One of Milwaukee's Top Chefs, menu continuously changes, Largest wine list in town and retail priced. They have earned every award they received. So what they are in a casino, great place to see a concert.

After years of good reviews, we deicded to try dream dance despite our misgivings of visiting a casino to do it. The place is well-designed; pleasant, good staff, nice menu and reasonable prices given the quality of the food. On the whole though, the food isn't better than 20 or more restaurants in Milwaukee, and I don't have to wawlk throught a smoky depressing casino to eat at those restaurants. If you're a fan of the casino, a nice dinner there is definitely possible. If you're not, I'd avoid it.

After reading many reviews of this restaurant, I was expecting a remarkable evening. In fact many reviewers used Sanford's as a comparison, Sanford's is a dream to eat at, Dream Dance is forgettable. To begin, valet parking is difficult to find, we ended up tipping $20 to have someone take our car. The hostess was very unprofessional. Upon seating, the waitress asked if this was our first visit, we said yes, she said oh. No further info. She looked totally overwhelmed and disheveled. We ordered our meal, everyone had salad, a beef filet, and a side dish. The marginal salad came out in a timely manner, then we waited. We waited some more, then a intermezzo sorbet arrived, "courtesy of the chef" due to the long wait. We were told there was a large private party that got their order in ahead of us, and we would be next. We waited some more. Finally after a 6:45 reservation, we were served at 8:45. The plates were hotter than the food, the steaks were cooked as ordered, however, they had rested a long time and were cool. Plus, the blue cheese "sauce" on top had congealed and tasted awful. We did not have dessert and asked for the bill. When we used credit cards, the receipt came on the old 4 part forms and we were told that we could not separate them as the staff had to do it??? It seemed like a very ineffective billing system. Overall, this restaurant is all hype no substance. I would and will choose Sanford's plus many other restaurants over Dream Dance.

This is by far my favorite restaurant...fine dining at its best! The dining experience begins with a champagne cart and a greeting from one of your two servers (ask for Troy, he's the best!). Your leisurely (this is meant to be savoured & enjoyed...plan on spending about 2 hours dining) meal begins with an amuse bouche. The menu frequently changes with the seasons and what foods are at their best. There is always a great selection of appetizers - better known as 'small plates' (the lobsterwurst is the best), salads, & soups (I recommend the soup trilogy). Entrees are amazing and this is one of only two restaurants in Milwaukee where you can have true Japanese kobe beef. Desserts are outstanding and at the end of your meal the pastry chef sends out a tray of little treats...a sweet ending to a wonderful meal. The ambiance of the restaurant is top notch...the restaurant moved downstairs last year and now has its own restrooms and entrance so you don't have to trek through the casino to get to it. Valet parking is free when you dine at Dream Dance, just ask the hostess to validate your ticket. This truly is the best restaurant in town.

As of this review, there are three AAA 4-diamond rated restaurants in Milwaukee, and this is one of them. Since I have only eaten at one of the other two, Sanford, I'm using it as my measuring stick.

At Dream Dance, my wife and I ordered the 7-course tasting menu with wine pairing (5). The food is outstanding and each course is akin to a culinary adventure, or to taste bud theater. The anticipation of each course is a great reason to do the tasting menu, since you do not know what your 7 courses will be. You do get little hints with the wines poured before each course. The wine pairings were often interesting, but appropriate, including Japanese sake for one course.

The dining room really sets this restaurant apart, because it is calming and beautiful; the booth seating is unique. The air is clean and the temperature was comfortable. I mention the clean air, because the adjacent casino was a bit smokey, and you do have to walk through the casino to get to the restaurant. To my surprise, though, this casino is visually very similar to anything you might see in Las Vegas.

The difference between Sanford and Dream Dance boils down to the atmosphere. Sanford is very proper, elegant and precise; Dream Dance is hip, edgy, and fresh.
