Had a great dinner here on a Thursday night. Two excellent guitarist provided nice background music. Service was good. Food really good.

My groups favorites were: the Thursday night short rib special, fried calamari appetizer, Tai Chicken Lettuce wrap appetizer, and the almond encrusted walleye

Ate here this week as part of party of 5, for dinner. Modern and nice decor. Varied menu. Nice bread served before meal. Prices were too high for food, which was attractive, but small portions. We liked squash soup and eggplant/zucchini appetizers. Enjoyed my BBQ salmon w/goat cheese mashed potatoes, but another in party was still hungry afterwards. Pizza was okay, not fabulous. If prices were reduced, I might return. Otherwise, I would not return.

It good but not for what they charged. Nice place, though and very popular.

North Shore Bistro is in Fox Point and has re-invented itself by down-sizing & becoming "NSB Bar & Grille". $20ish entree was a broiled, but soggy, piece of white-fish or walleye served on cold rice with over-oiled re-heated green beans. No bread....so for the price, in a 1/2 full smallish dining room on a Friday night, there's no reason for poorly prepared food. The tables without cloth or placemats are wide apart, yet the young, trim, staff can hit the seated diner, or the table, almost every passing....then turn and address a table one or two away......are we ordering for the distant table by committee? This used to be a good local place, not any more. Riverlane Inn is five minutes west on Brown Deer Rd, go there.

I've eaten here twice in a week's time. Dinner Saturday was potstickers and whitefish. Fish was supreme, potstickers tasted OK, but should be steamed, not fried and oily. Dinner Wednesday was hummus plate and scallops. Hummus plate very unique: plain and simple, but fresh and tasty. Sadly the scallops were not washed well so two of the four were inedible. Very gritty, sandy. Polenta served with them was outstanding. The combination of a roasted red pepper sauce and cooked spinach on this plate left a bitter, nearly metallic, taste in my mouth. It affected the taste of the scallops as well. Strange. Unappetizing.
In my view, when food is reported to waitstaff as inedible, the bill should be adjusted. I got an "I'm sorry" but no adjustment to a $22 entree. Bill total $39.. So, I won't be back here to try again. Sad, because there is potential, they're just not managed well I think. :-(
