“Like visiting Italy!”
Reviewed January 27, 2013

I had a group that visited Mimma's on a Thursday based on a recommendation from an aquaintance. As you drive up, you can tell this is an italian neighborhood. The exterior totally belies how rich it feels inside. Excellent food, great service, and priced at what we expected. I am from a small town so it always surpises me in Milwaukee at the nice restaurants that everything is sold ala carte. If you are concerned about cost, do the math as you order. Ask what the special costs. I would definitely go here again and would recommend it to anyone else!

“One of the best restaurants in MKE”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Wonderful food and service as always! I have been going to Mimma’s for family dinners and occasions for almost twenty years and every time is worth it! The food and desserts are always great and the service is impeccable! The restaurant is very formal and its offers great Italian dishes that you cannot get anywhere else. This may be the problem for the usual Olive Garden and Bucca lovers who do not know what REAL Italian dishes are supposed to include. It is pricey, but what do you expect for large portions of great food and professional service? Our last event included five guests who were first time guests at Mimma’s. Everyone loved their courses and the wine pairing suggested by the waiter. Mimma’s has been a staple in the Brady Street community for years for a reason!

“Expecting romantic anniversary dinner - disappointed”
Reviewed October 28, 2012

We should have trusted what we read here but took a chance and tried Mimma's for an anniversary weekend away.
When we arrived, we encountered Mimma right away and loved to see her interact with someone who was clearly a regular. The decor was outdated, but we didn't mind. The place was jammed!
Our waiter was nice enough, but rushed us through our entire meal. I ordered an eggplant special which was mediocre, at best.
The kicker, my husband ordered a double espresso...$7.50!
We were in and out in less than an hour. How disappointing!

“Perfect restaurant for three couples looking for a leisurely meal!”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

We went to Mimma's with two other couples, seeking to share wine, food, and stories over a leisurely, casual meal. Mimma's did not disappoint! Our waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, and besides a slightly-overcooked steak ordered "medium rare", the food was delicious and appropriately sized. Three of the six of us ordered one of the specials; three ordered standard fare. I think we all agreed that the specials were the way to go because (a) it saves you from being overwhelmed by the voluminous menu; and (b) the creative, seasonal dishes were absolutely pitch-perfect.

Through appetizers, soup/salads, main dishes, deserts and port, we never felt rushed. The atmosphere was great because everything felt jovial, relaxed and comfortable!

“Very good pasta and Italian food”
Reviewed October 14, 2012

Really loved the pasta..very fresh, authentic Italian, and tasty. I would give this 5 stars except for a couple things. One, they did have one reasonably priced white wine (Pino Grigio) for $7 but were out of it so they alternative was a $10 glass of Pinot Grigio! I don't even pay that much for a bottle of decent Pinot Grigio! Also, the cannoli for dessert was good but at $8.95 a little expensive.
