Description: Serving authentic, rustic French cuisine in a bustling bistro setting, the restaurant features a menu that ranges from traditional to more modern and a chef's menu that changes with the seasons. The view of Lake Michigan from the two lake rooms in the Bistro is unrivaled by any other restaurant in the city. Plenty of free parking and a gorgeous park setting make Lake Park Bistro an appealing choice for any dining occasion. Lunch is served Monday through Friday, with guests able to choose from an a la carte menu or from the Menu d'Affaire, which offers a 2-course lunch for $19 and a 3-course lunch for $22. Sunday brunch is among the best in the Midwest, featuring three courses with champagne or a mimosa. Dinner is served nightly, and special events like wine dinners and the annual Black Truffle Dinner are highlights for guests and staff alike.

“Always a pleasure”
Reviewed September 6, 2013

While Bartolotta's presence in Milwaukee is rather ubiquitous, we have yet to be disappointed. Over the years we have enjoyed Lake Park Bistro and the past time for our anniversary was no different. From the table overlooking the steps down to Lake Michigan to the pleasant waitstaff all was delightful. The bone marrow appetizer, while perhaps a tad too carnivoresque for some, was a great start to our meal. The gazpacho made with heirloom tomatoes was a spicy treat and my Magret duck leg with French green lentils, Swiss chard, and red wine sauce was delightful. While our main server was the perfect balance of pleasant - aloofness, her assistant needs some coaching as what not to say. His comment was something to the effect of our attacking our meal or if we've eaten our fill may be fitting at an all you can eat buffet, but to enjoy four courses over three hours seems rather rude. He was the only negative, albeit a very minor and almost humorous one.

“Perfect lakeside setting and High Quality food and service”
Reviewed September 4, 2013

The Bistro has been there for years and has developed into a very fine restaurant with a quite mature kitchen and inventive menu. There are two rooms on the lake and one main room and bar to compose the entire space. One can also eat dinner at the bar and watch the action in the kitchen! This is a very fine restaurant and even has plenty of free parking. Food, service, views and well trained staff=solid A.

“Beautiful view and good food”
Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

I was recommended to this restaurant by a local while sitting at a Milwaukee Brewers game. SInce I enjoy french foot, I ordered the pork pate. Very good. Followed by the Lamb chops. Many delicious items on the menu and staff was wonderful. But the view of Lake Michigan sitting at our table was really what made it extra special.

“Anniversary dinner gone wrong”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Having eaten at Lake Park Bistro a few years back, I was extremely excited for my husband and I to celebrate our one year wedding
Anniversary there. The night started out great with a card from the restaurant and complimentary champagne. We had two people waiting on us, but had to wait 20 minutes and ask for bread to get any.. Even though they were serving a couple who sat down at the same time as us. From the time we were seated to the time we received our meal, it took 2 hours. Slow service and very noisy restaurant, definitely not the ambience we expected. We still had a great time and the food was okay, just not what you expect with the name bartollotas.

“Simple sophistication. Subtle delicious food.”
Reviewed August 29, 2013

I expected heavy, pretentious food and ambience but that was not the case at all. The decor is elegant, no frills bistro in a lovely setting on Lake Michigan. The staff is professional but not self-important. In fact, they could not have been more gracious, especially considering that our group included a 99 year old senior who, though charming, was not bashful about voicing her thoughts. We liked the lunch menu choices and the room smelled so good it was hard to choose. One of our group asked for an omelette that is no longer on the menu and the chef obliged. It was giant, but looked perfectly prepared- crispy outside, fluffy inside. My friend said it was delicious. I ordered poached salmon salad. It arrived, puck-shaped and wrapped in a sliver of cucumber. Again, perfect. The chef used a light hand on the lemon-mayo and spices letting the natural freshness of the fish dominate. I ordered warm chocolate cake for dessert. My first bite gave me that aaah feeling of good chocolate- soft, rich, satisfying, Then I tasted the mint ice cream that came with it. Wonderful! Like fresh mint leaves. Perfect complement to the chocolate. I am happy now just remembering it.
