I have gone to Coerper's several times this year and each and every time i have had the best steak ever. I have been to steak houses all over the USA and this is the best steak ever. I always order the large filet med rare. The first time i went there i was scared as the steak looked burnt to a crisp but after cutting in to it i could not believe the flavor of the meat. Once you enter the inner part of the filet it almost melts in your mouth. I have been to other web sites and have seen bad reviews of the food here. If you think this filet is not a good steak then you have no idea what a steak is. Expect to spend about $40.00 just for the steak which is high but i have no problem paying top price for exceptional food. The salad is just ok there as well as the warm bread. You also get a relish tray. These are all just ok but you are paying for the steak. The decor is old and dark but it's kind of cool and a step back in time. If you want the best steak ever and don't mind paying the price then order the filet medium rare and you will not be disapointed. One good judge of a steak house is when they will not cook a steak in any form of well done or medium well done. If you want a well done steak do not go here.

We like to go there occasionally, just as one of those special places. The food so familiar and always tu=rue to what is expected.
Just wish we felt a bit safer in the area.

If your looking for a trendy place to be seen and eat ... this is not the place. If your looking for one of the best steaks you have ever had ... this is the place. I live in the area but seek out the so called critics best steakhouses whenever I travel. This has to be one of the top three steaks I have ever had. Steak comes on the plate in it's own juices which is amazing. I have been here multiple times and it's been amazing every time.

I think the people saying it's expensive probably are used to large chain steakhouses. It's not cheap but you can easily find steaks that are more expensive in Milwaukee. It is true that it's not in a great neighborhood but unless your living there it should not matter. They typically have someone watching the car lot (which is tiny). I just park on the street.

Average across the board, buyer BEWARE! Bring your wallet and all the money you have because this place is way over priced. This Restaurant is not stylish, creative, chic, fresh, new, or trendy. An old time supper club. I will give them a unique "star" for pulling this off! For some reason people pay way too much. You will pay minimum $50.00 a person for mediocrity and I was stupid not ask what market price was for surf and turf, my date ordered. 2 small lobster tail, and a 21 ounce ribeye, $105.00. what a joke. It is robbery plain and simple. I could of ate for 2 weeks at home for what I was charged at this place. $7.00 martinis, $8.00 side of Asparagus, $15.00 shrimp cocktail. every side is expensive.

service was ok, friendly staff, bartender, and it was an enjoyable place for the time I was there. The security guard is really nice outside. The fact you might get shot while in this neighborhood adds a bit of intrigue, like an old baretta movie. gotta love that., get out of here alive and live to talk about it. ha ha..

Why all the high marks on this restaurant other people give? I believe its coming off a special occasion, anniversary, birthday, etc.

I would not go back, unless someone else paid. No thanks.

Think of your typical 50's supper club and this is what you will get. Amazing steaks, a baked potato the size of a football, relish tray etc.
