“Nothing There!!”
Reviewed August 5, 2014

Urban redevelopment has been a mainstay of many cities across the USA with significant success. San Antonio is a prime example of how to do it right. RiverWalk in Milwaukee misses the mark that is set so high by other cities.

The river and its surrounding building are not that nice to begin with. There is a lack of restaurants and shops along the route. The walkways do not "connect;" you have to cross busy streets to continue along the route. Nice idea, but it just doesn't work in Milwaukee

“Phantom of the Opera”
Reviewed July 29, 2014

It has always been something we have always wanted to see as a play. The Marcus Center is set up so nicely, very beautiful and well kept. I must also say all of the staff was pleasant and very patient...especially with the fact I had downloaded my tickets to my phone and had some difficulty pulling it up.
We had balcony seats, which I would do again, we could see the entire stage, the only problem is the couple in front of us kept leaning forward in their seats which at times made it difficult to see, but over all good seats.

“Cozy but fantastic theatre”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

As someone native to the Chicagoland area, I'm very used to incredibly large theatres and was pleasently surprised at the coziness of this venue. It was gorgeous and well kept. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We went to see The Phantom of the Opera and it was a great experience. The smaller venue made me feel more enthralled and involved in the production. Keep in mind, there is no middle aisle for seating so if you choose a middle seat, you will have to walk past 30 people on either side to get in or out. It was not an issue because I generally do not have to leave my seat throughout the production, but it's something to keep in mind. Overall great experience.

“Great kid program outdoors all summer”
Reviewed July 23, 2014

The Marcus Center also includes a couple of outdoor stages that are used during summer for movies and kid friendly performances. We've attended many of the shows at the Kidz Stage- a much smaller venue they own just behind the main center. Tuesday through Thursday at 10 am during summer months you can see a variety of entertainers for free. We saw a naturalist who brought snakes & frogs, some theater performers doing storytelling, and a magician. All the shows seem to be interactive and are great for younger kids. Come a few minutes early to get a good seat as there are often plenty of daycares or school groups who come.

We also have a subscription to First Stage performances, which are world class, in my opinion. There isn't a bad seat in the whole theater. The works are often original based on stories. The snacks are cookies and juice packs and are affordably prices. This is a great venue for families.
