We had a most enjoyable romantic setting to wind down after the Pink concert..Matt was very helpful in getting us some choice apps late into evening..Shrimp with mustard horseradish were excellent and the meat cheese platter was also top shelf..Matt even supplied us with extra limes to take to our room since the bar closed 12:30AM on thurs..we keep partying till 5 am..weeee.

“Tea at the Pfister - what a disappointment”
Reviewed January 10, 2014

Afternoon tea on the 23d floor at the Pfister was a big disappointment. The most enjoyable part was having the tea steward come out with his cart of various Rishi teas, and explain all of them to us.

Unfortunately, the Rishi tea that we ordered (both were blacks) wasn't hot, nor was there a flame/chafing under the lovely silver teapots to keep the tea hot even if it had arrived so. The milk served for the tea was ice cold. How hard is it to warm a bit of milk for tea? The scones were delicious, but would probably have disappointed a true Brit. Smallish, almost cookie-like, not like scones I've had in the UK.

When we tried to pay our bill in cash, the staff person had to go downstairs to get change for us; there was no cash drawer in the tea room. We waited what seemed like forever for her to return with the cash. Hello?

If The Pfister is going to offer afternoon tea, they ought to do it right. I won't be going back. Not worth $14 for 2 scones and lukewarm tea.

“Hors d'Oeuvres”
Reviewed December 18, 2013

A bit bland, but that's what happens when you don't know your clientele and neither do the hosts. I just asked our waitress to keep any fish away from my husband, who might have needed a hospital visit if he ate anything that swam.

The food was good, the staff attentive and the view was fantastic. I will check out their full dinner menu and get back to you on that. Oh, I don't go to trendy restaurants and prefer to cook for my love at home. This was a treat for me!

“Classy and Romantic Setting”
Reviewed December 10, 2013

Blu is truly classy and romantic. If you arrive early enough or negotiate with a couple that is about to leave soon, you just might be able to get seating if it is packed with people. They had live jazz playing as we arrived and they have a good drink menu for a nice evening. They provide you a complimentary sample of mixed nuts and almonds for enjoyment (beware they have some sort of jalapeño that will light your mouth on fire). If you are going in a group, then you'll probably want to sit next to the windows with great views of the Lake and the city. The other tables are more for couples and have limited room. Overall a good place to go if you are in town and want a romantic experience. It was a little difficult to find within the Pfister Hotel without asking, so perhaps better signage would help.

“Dark and crowded”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Saturday night at 10:30. Live music sounded great, but took a 30 minute break and we left before they came back. Bartenders seemed a bit overworked, not as friendly as the other staff (front desk, bellboys). Nice wine list.
