“Good use of a natural waterway”

Commendations to the city of Milwaukee for transforming the Milwaukee River into a worthwhile attraction. Although the Riverwalk is fairly short and involves several ups and downs, it nevertheless entices both locals and tourists to the downtown area. We particularly liked the Bronze Fonz, a statue of Fonzie, of Happy Days fame, at the intersection of the river with East Wells Street.

“Pleasant And Relaxing Walk”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2013

The River Walk is a nice walk through the Downtown area and a great way to explore Milwaukee’s architecture, which is similar to Chicago but on a smaller scale. The statutes of Arthur “The Fonz” Fonzarelli from Happy Days and Gertie and other duck friends, add to the interest.

The big disappointment was the lack of activity on the river, although it was only early September and the weather was glorious, the boat tour season had finished and as the river cuts through the Downtown area it was surprising that there was no water taxi service.

“So Pretty, So Well Designed, Such a Nice Respite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 23, 2013

The Riverwalk is a wonderful way to see downtown Milwaukee and the Third Ward. This trip I used it to walk from downtown to the Public Market and back.
There are parts which are landscaped and parts which are just the wooden planks of the walk. Being next to the river is a treat.

“Walk and Bike”

Great paved trail; wide, scenic and not too crowded for a Saturday in September. Found a few geocaches along the way.

“We highly rcommend the Riverwalk.”

We utilized the Riverwalk many times during our stay in downtown Milwaukee. It's a pretty walk during the day and its fun for the kids to see the statues of Gertie the Duck and her babies. We also enjoyed sitting and watching the boats go by on Fourth of July weekend.
