I was so impressed at how clean the walk and the river was. The whole City is so clean, but this area with all the foot traffic you expect a little less. We really enjoyed strolling the Riverwalk we stopped for lunch at a great Brewery located right on the walk and were able to eat on the patio by the walk. This is a great way to see some of the City, we walked down to German Town, enjoyed a Brat at Pierre Marquette Park, the whole area is just a great surprise in the middle of Downtown. I saw a few people jogging the area and just several people strolling enjoying the river and a nice day. The Riverwalk is a nice way to see Downtown and just enjoy a nice Milwaukee Day.

Milwaukee's two-mile RiverWalk follows the course of the Milwaukee River. A number of restaurants provide riverside dining and cocktails. Great place to hang out on a summer evening.

It's easy to go from the downtown stores or mall to the RiverWalk, where the attraction is less the walk itself than the French-style cafes that line it. Although I miss the old "big city" and feel restoration has been overdone, sometimes resulting in "campy historic, pseudo-Colonial or Victorian surfaces, Milwaukee and Chicago have both done an excellent job of enhancing the possibilities of their respective rivers as opposed to trying to conceal them or pretend there are none. Moreover, the walk and colorful restaurants in Milwaukee are with easy reach of the city's biggest cultural attractions--the symphony, ballet, guest artists from the world of classical, pop, and jazz.

Very nice when your in the downtown area. The river traffic is nice to watch, there are bars with food and drink plus boat tours. You are away from the cars and traffic and you can go to John Hawks, Ale House, and many exciting new bars and resteraunts filling the area as it grows and becomes even nicer as a summertime attraction.

This river walk has a lot to offer- food, art, drink, free wifi in some spots, and the view of the Milwaukee river. It is well marked with interpretive signs that add interesting facts about the places you're seeing as well as maps in the downtown section. It runs on both sides of the river, so you can do a circuit and it can be different in each direction. Look down at the pavement and you might see bronze tiles with designs done by students. Local artists are featured in the sculptures, and you can get free brochures available on the walk, called RiverSculpture! 2012. After a fresh snow, expect to see only animal tracks on the river and maybe some waterfowl. Great exercise with nice views! Just be aware that most of the river walk is below streets and has stairs so it's not totally stroller friendly. They have added ramps in many places but it still doesn't have them at all streets.
