Cool history, really pretty architecture. Great to check out at Christmas time.. Its an old school tour, not too exciting but worthwhile

The mansion was impressive to say the least. The 1890 era woodwork was outstanding and the details were unbelievably exquisite. But unfortunately, we had an arrogant middle-aged female tour guide which destroyed the tour for me. Otherwise, it's a must-see when you're in the Milwaukee area. Other info that you may need is the parking lot is small and can get crowded, there is a fee for the tour and you can buy a shirt in the gift shop which will help pay for the on-going renovation of the mansion.

What a beautiful house. This is a fine example of what money could build in the 1800's. The woodwork is incredible and has been kept in excellent shape. The rooms are decorated in the style of the day and the tour guides are friendly and know lots of fun tidbits about the house and famiy.
This is a good place to take out-of-town guests, those that love architecture, history etc. It is also fun to see during the holidays when it is decorated.

The tour is every hour on the hour, the guide was great, she knew everything about the house and past owners. The architecture and quality of workmanship in the home is spactacular. If you like looking at wood work and homes this is the place to visit.
