Downtown Milwaukee gem, known by few who even live here! All of the artwork, including sculptures, depict men and women at work. A dozen or so of the sculptures have been enlarged to maybe 20 feet and 'guard' the upper garden where you can see out over Milwaukee. When the upper gardens are closed, the sculptures are turned. Mr. Grohmann has a circular office on the top which has beautiful stained glass windows, all scenes from beloved paintings in the museum which he and his wife chose. We were able to talk to Mr. Grohmann on 'Gallery Night' in Milwaukee, he was in residence! He stated one painting depicted in stained glass was not in the gallery, it is his wife's favorite and they have kept it. Mr. Grohmann was charming. The gallery includes a copy of the statute that is in Rotary Park, Port Washington on Lake Michigan by Andy Schumann, "The Fisherman". You can purchase some pewter replicas of "The Fisherman" and other items in the small store.
