“Worth the stop”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2012

After reading the other reviews, we decided to check the museum. Very interesting. Most of the art is classical(realistic) But the theme is Man at Work with a large collection of Steel and Iron.

“A fascinating glimpse of "work" across the years.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2012

The paintings are captivating while the written and video materials explaining the nature of the represented industries are fascinating. The breath of "man at work" here is very impressive. I only had 90 minutes to visit with family which meant we skipped the whole 3rd floor...thankfully, I live close enough to return again soon. The museum is beautifully arranged and thought provoking...and the rooftop IS beautiful. It also affords a unique view of downtown Milwaukee. Milwaukee owes the Grohmann family a debt of thanks for creating such a gem.

“What a surprise!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2012

This is probably one of the most fascinating museums I have ever been too. It is very well organized and has such an unexpected subject matter. Every piece in the entire museum is based on "work" and are arranged by type of work. Be sure to get to the roof patio to see the full-size sculptures and enjoy the great view of downtown Milwaukee.

“A Real Surprise”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 29, 2012

A former federal reserve bank building has been converted into the "world's largest collection of industrial art". They call themselves a museum dedicated to "Men at Work" and that is exactly what it is. The renovation is great and the art (both painting and sculpture) is all with a working theme. The rooftop sculpture garden is really lovely.

“An amazing place!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

If your career was in industry or you ever wanted to see what it was like in the "hey days" of the industrial revolution, you should stop in here. There are amazing painting from both Europe and the United State, sculptures, mosaics, etc.

There are many floors but the roof top is an experience you do not want to miss. I have been here once, but will come again!
