I gave stayed at the Ambassador many times. I continue to come back because staff are friendly, rooms are nice and the food is good. The shuttle service and the 1920s happy hour are great -- definitely take advantage of them. Travels should be aware that the surrounding neighborhood is a little sketchy. In general its nothing to worry about, but don't walk alone in the area-- particularly at night. Don't let this stop you from staying here; its just something to keep in mind.

This was our first stay at the Ambassador. The service was overall very good - friendly, Midwestern. The location is a little rough-around-the-edges, but much better than when I lived in the neighborhood in college. My only negative feedback about our stay is that the walls are very thin. So a weekend with a home Brewers game and concerts across the street at The Rave were pretty loud most of the night. I've heard about the hotel's Art Deco charm, which was lovely but also bordered on creepy. The decor, dried flowers, and a random mini fridge out in the hallway gave me a vibe from The Shining. Historic hotels = small rooms, older amenities.

Visited for bachelorette/Brewer trip. Hotel exceeded expectations and shuttle service was excellent. Room attendant offered extra blankets without request. Overall great place to stay while visiting Milwaukee.

Beautiful restoration. Charming, relaxed atmosphere. Shuttle service is a plus. But parking no longer free, rooms more $$$, breakfast not as fabulous as before. Not as special. But still a good choice.

Run down rooms .Rooms had a bad smell. Very rude bartenders. Apon arrival no one at front desk. Not friendly. Water pressure poor. Bathrooms very small. Would not recomend this hotel to anyone. The doormen were very nice and friendly.

Nice hotel and the shuttle driver did everything he could, but the "shuttle" is a 14-passenger van. At the end of the game there were about 100 people waiting for the shuttle and there is no reservation system so getting on the van is a free-for-all. Sad to say, the first trip was filled by the young and pushy even though there were handicapped individuals and families with small children waiting. Because there is only one van and it needed to fight gameday traffic over and back, at least 2/3 of the people who wanted to get on it gave up and took a cab (or arranged alternative transportation) rather than wait and fight their way on. Still I'm giving the hotel a 4-star review because the room was nice and the staff friendly, but if you're booking it for the shuttle, you're making a mistake.
