Description: Tulip aspires to introduce Turkish cuisine to the Milwaukee area. It is housed in the old Gas Light Building in the historic Third Ward. The warm cream city brick walls, coupled with the red hues of the onyx bar make for an inviting and panache atmosphere. The menu entices you to indulge on Turkish delights, such as eggplant puree, fried cheese roll, lamb chops and shish kebabs. Freshly made pita bread and baklava are awaiting you. Accent your dining with an excellent choice of wines, Turkish beer and martinis. No meal can go unfinished without sampling the famous Turkish coffee or Tea.

My wife and I went there with her parents. The place looks goos inside but the food is just average, i can even say below average. I had a dish with grapes leaves which didint have anything special. the main dishes were ok. The only thing that saved the dinner was the baklava which was the best i ever had. not too sweet.

If you are in Milwaukee and want to have a wonderful dinner in a great setting, try Tulip in the Old Third Ward. My husband and I have a condo in Milwaukee and can walk to Tulip. Recently, I went there with a group of family and friends, and we had a wonderful evening. We started with a shared appetizer of different dips like humuus, eggplant, yogurt/mint, etc. Everyone really enjoyed the platter. The eggplant dip was very different and had a wonderful, smoky flavor. I had the chicken kabob, which was very tasty. Others had pasta and other meat dishes. I highly recommend the dessert with the whole wheat and feta. Wonderful!

I am not an expert of mediteranian food but, this is a nice restaurant with in very good ethnic (Turkish ?) food. The menu is a nice break from the american traditional or americanized ethnic. Lots of lamb, artichoke, egg plant etc. We both had different lamb dishes and the taste and presentation was very satisfying . Good atmosphere, prices were appropriate and the service was standard for this day and age. Well worh a visit if you are in the area.

We had a living social voucher. Food and service was good. But, not sure if it would have been worth it for full price.
