Description: Harbor House is a bright, spacious New England-style seafood restaurant Milwaukee residents and visitors love, set on the shore of Lake Michigan. The restaurant is a result of a partnership between local businessman and philanthropist Michael Cudahy and The Bartolotta Restaurants. After opening in 2010, Harbor House quickly rose to become one of the city's top restaurants. Harbor House offers a premier lakefront dining experience and the freshest seafood flown in daily from both coasts. The interior features a three-sided bar, a raw bar, an open kitchen and a private dining room available for special events and parties. An outdoor patio features a full bar, Adirondack chairs and unparalleled views of the lake, the Milwaukee Art Museum and Milwaukee's skyline.

I went for the first time a few weeks ago for a later in the evening dinner. The service was very good, the food was unremarkable. I had the lobster roll which had no flavor. In addition, the lobster was quite tough - biting into a piece resulted in the entire piece coming out of the bun, rather than it breaking into a smaller piece. The fries that came with the lobster roll were good. I would not recommend nor will I return.

Great location, views and bright open space. Enjoyed the large selection of fresh oysters, fresh snow crab in season and a terrific branzini (Med Sea Bass) but other fresh fish selections were lacking. Cioppino was lacking in broth flavor but abundant in fish ingredients. Lobster was great and staff is very accommodating even to the extent of special requests. Fun, bright atmosphere - but can be noisy. Great bar.

Seated at the tables in the gleaming restaurant, we had choices of seafood from both coasts. The view of Lake Michigan harbor was beautiful with jumping fish and diving ducks and Canadian geese. The menu had something for everyone. I had Lake Michigan perch, breaded and fried on toasted sourdough bread with lots of cole slaw in the sandwich - that was a surprise! It was tasty and I had enough to offer some to others, along with the french fries. Others had what seemed like diminutive servings of various types of fish and seemed somewhat surprised by the portion size. I guess it was like eating from a French menu - lots of fancy preparation, but when all is said and done - you are looking for dessert to fill in the holes in your tummy.

We enjoyed a leisurely late Sunday lunch - very quiet because we were in between brunch and dinner service. But delightful to relax and enjoy the views.

Visited for a dinner on our anniversary. Staff was great, valet parking was a good deal, reservations were a breeze, seating was extremely timely, and views were amazing! Food, on the other hand, was nothing special, and thus, overpriced. Calimari was good, but it should be in a place like this. We each got the Filet combo. ..mine with Salmon, my wife's with Scallops. Everything was pretty bland, and my Filet was pretty stringy for some reason...freezer burn maybe? Poached Salmon is never as good as grilled, and this tasteless piece of fish proved that again. Scallops weren't memorable either. Both dishes came with sauteed spinach, which tasted like easy to cook steamed spinach. Had a great seat by the art museum, but not memorable to visit again for that price. I'll cook these items at home for more flavor any day. That said, all staff members were very friendly and attentive.
