Drove passed the Domes on the highway. They were so distinctive that we had to go back. The gardens on display in the Desert dome and the Tropical dome are definitely worth a visit. As a Southern Californian, I had seen most of the plants in the domes but they were artfully displayed. I would think it would be an eye-opening experience for most Midwesterners.

One of the three domes, the Show Dome is closed for maintenance and inspection. The Tropical and Desert Domes more than make up for that, though, because they are always changing. Many of the cacti and succulents are blooming in the Desert Dome now. The Tropical Dome has a dinosaur display hidden among the multitude of plants, making it more interesting for kids! Blossoms abound and there are some beautiful little birds! It's always a lift to the spirit to visit here!

Three domes each containing different plants. A show dome, a desert dome, and a tropical dome. For residents of Milwaukee, this is probably a welcome retreat throughout the long, cold winters. For residents of desert climes or Florida/Tropics, it could be so much more. The plants are well cared for but not exotic. There is not much educational material. The Domes themselves could use some upkeep. Even the entrance area is dated.

With an infusion of money and some renovation coupled with more exotic plantings, this could be a spectacular site.

The conservatory offers winter-weary Wisconsinites and their visitors an opportunity to escape the cold and surround themselves with a little bit of summer. The gardens are beautiful and well-maintained. It was a great place to spend the afternoon.

It was ok. It was just botanical garden in the domes. But need to see the different types of plants and atmosphere these plants live in.
