To get this out of the way, the standard rooms are small, and walls are definitely thin. I think the hotel more than made up for its flaws, though, with neat design and efficient uses of spaces. The ironing board, for example, was hidden in the giant multipurpose headboard of the bed. I understand this small, efficient room type might be a little European for some, but I thought it was all rather cool enough to work. The design is really cool, with nice bathrooms (no bathtubs unfortunately), big TV's, and even a nice bench for sitting in our room. The location is awesome, right by Water St and also the Bradly Center. Service was good (we had them bring up wine glasses and a corkscrew) and the room was very clean. I thought it was definitely worth the price (we paid 52 on hotwire) and probably even double that.

Room Tip: Ask about upgrading to a suite if space is a concern, although there were none available our night...

The Aloft is design similarly to other hotels of the same brand, which is in loft style. The location of the hotel is fine and its nice that they offer free wireless internet in the rooms that worked very well.

The only negative from my point of view is that the hotel does not have a full service restaurant, though they do have some self serve food options by the front desk. This was fine for me for the one night I was a guest, but I think for a longer stay it would not be adequate.

For $109/ night, can't beat the cleanliness. Very thin walls. Walking distance to Water St. Bars/ restaurants. Also walking distance to Hoffbrauhaus. Nnot bad, not bad at all. Female bartender seemed miserable every time we saw her.

Room Tip: U or V shaped hotel (elevator in center) ask if you have a preference of distance from elevator

This was my first time to Milwaukee. Kristi, the front desk attendant, was super nice. I asked for food / bar recommendations and she recommended a great burger joint on N Water Street and a few things to do before my ball game.

The room was HUGE and nicely decorated. Only problem is that there is a construction site nearby, and the noise prevents me from napping immediately when I got to the room. I would request a room furthest from the construction site, which is south.

Overall, great experience and a special thanks to Kristi for taking time to suggest plenty of spots in town.

The Aloft Milwaukee was an excellent stop for a night in the city. The modern hotel concept is good and is well thought out. The negatives posted in other reviews did not seem to apply to me. The rooms were tastefully appointed.

There are many good hotels in the downtown Milwaukee area. The Aloft was a good value with some original features. I highly recommend this hotel.

Check in was quick and pleasant. The staff were pleasant and very professional.

This newer hotel is located within a few blocks from the Bradley Center, Pabst Brewery and lots of restaurants. Will look to stay here again for Summerfest!

We got here a bit late and the check in was quite smooth. Parking is either down the street for $15 a night or by valet for $20 a night. ....either way, you have to pay. There isn't any free parking downtown Milwaukee unless you park a few blocks away, basically, in a neighborhood.
The rooms are nice ....small....clean...nothing extra here! We spent the night, at first, getting to sleep over the road noise and being waken by the street noise and we were on the 4th floor. The walls are thin and the ceiling above ....well, there was a heavy footed person above us. If noise isn't an issue, this place is great for you especially if you are on a budget. I would stay here again but, ask for a room that is off the street. Ask for a view of the river if possible.

Room Tip: rooms off the street are less noisy. Ask for a river view room.
