“For being downtown and for the cost, a very nice place.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2011

Stayed here the night of a concert at The Rave with my teenage son. Staff was friendly, room was smallish but adequate and clean, nice bathroom and the price was right.

As far as the neighborhood, it's downtown Milwaukee, but never felt threatening or like it was a bad part of town. It's inner city, not sure what people are expecting... Didn't use the oft-maligned shuttle service, took a cab. Didn't get up in time for breakfast, either. What I did experience of the hotel was better than what I'd expected, though. Also, two AC units in one room. Large lobby and it looked like they had a small bar, though it was closed at midnight on a Wednesday when we got back from the show.

Room Tip: A window facing 6th St is probably your best bet.

I have never stayed at such a disaster of a hotel. It's only two years old? REALLY? It was dirty, the room was the smallest room I've ever seen...and the neighborhood was very shady. I can't believe how many good reviews there are of this place. Much better to stay downtown, at the Hilton, or Marriott. And for the same price too, or very close. The staff was nice, but the room was definitely not worth what we paid. Will never stay here again.

The main reason we booked this hotel is because it is relatively close to the bars and restaurants of old world third street and water street and that they advertised that they have a free shuttle that will take you to these areas. The shuttle was 45 minutes late picking us up in the afternoon. When we got back to the hotel I told them that we would need an 8:45 ride for 9:00 dinner reservations. The girl wrote down our name, time and number of people (8). when we got to the lobby at 8:45 she told us that the shuttle ran out of gas and that the driver wouldn't be back for a long time. She then offerred to call cabs for us. Since we were a large group we needed two and it cost us 10.00 each.

The rooms were clean and adequate.

Our friend also had a bad experience. They stayed the evening before we got there for a total of two nights. The first night they had a suite and the 2nd night they had a regular room. They wanted to see if they could stay in the suite for two nights so In the morning of the 2nd day they checked with the front desk to see if they could stay or if they would need to pack their stuff up and change rooms. The front desk clerk told them that they could remain in the same room. During the day while we were out on the town they received a voicemail asking why all their stuff was still in the suite since they needed to change rooms and telling them that the workers at the hotel bagged it all up and put it at the desk for them. Needless to say my friend was extremely angry. 1. she was told she could stay in that room and 2. she had people going through her personal belongings.

This place is very disorganized. I would not stay here again if I could avoid it. If it is a last resort it will do but don't expect too much.

We stayed here for one night when we were celebrating a birthday in Milwaukee. The overall appearance and cleanliness was good. The room we had was small, but was very modern and the bathroom was awesome. There was a huge shower and fancy sinks. I loved all the art that hung in the halls and in the rooms.
We ordered from NYPD pizza, it was really good! Look online for coupons.

Some things I didn't like-
Our toilet ran, and made a lot of noise but it was okay when we closed the bathroom door.
I was woken up in the morning by a rowdy bunch of people in the rooms next door.
Housekeeping walked right in on me while I was getting ready in the morning.
Staff isn't very professional and breakfast was mediocre.

Overall it was a decent stay, and I would stay again.

Stayed for a couple nights on a motorcycle trip to Milwaukee. Wanted to stay close to downtown, but ended up staying for about 1/2 the price here. It's on the edge of a tough neighborhood, but had no issues with our bikes or people around the hotel. The staff was very friendly and were always willing to address any issue. The bonus part of this hotel is they are willing to haul you anywhere in the downtown area whenever you want. They dropped us off at the Lake and picked us up later that night downtown. They were there within minutes of calling them. The rooms are a little small, but they are clean, updated and neat and all have flat screen TV's in them. Would stay again.

Room Tip: Some rooms are smaller than others, make sure to ask for one with fridge and microwave in them, they...

We stayed here at the end of July for the Milwaukee Brewer's Festival. We had hoped for a closer location, but everything was booked.

The Days Inn was reasonably priced and the rooms were very nice. They do offer a shuttle - free of charge within 2 miles, and there is a surcharge for other locations. Others have commented on the timing of the shuttle - we had planned to take the 2:45 shuttle, and she ended up not leaving til around 3 pm. It's free, they take you exactly where you want to go (she dropped us off right at the festival) but they aren't the most timely, so plan for that. We ended up walking back, which we were fine doing.

Breakfast on Sunday ended at 10 am (it should really go longer on the weekend!) and it was kind of picked over when we got down there, but it seemed fine.

They also have a bar in the hotel that is open late, which was nice.

The hotel staff were friendly - they were able to check us in early. The only problem is that they do not have irons or ironing boards in the room. (I do not understand this). You have to call down - which I did not realize I needed to do until 11 am. I had to call twice, and the finally go down to the front desk to get it myself.

We would definitely stay here again though.
