A great park, to bike, roller skate, run or walk by located just off of Lake Michigan. They have paddle boats and a great view of fireworks from Henry Meier.

Best place for the fireworks on the 3rd of July. It is an annual tradition for our family to camp out for them. It is the highlight of summer!

Veterans Park is nice enough, I suppose-----the Milwaukee Art Museum is located at its south end, there's a big marina at the north end and there's a lagoon in between-----but the only reason I'm reviewing it is because it gives me a forum to talk about the Iroquois harbor tour. ( The harbor tour is what I really want to review. Strangely, TripAdvisor doesn't list it among Milwaukee's attractions.) You can see Veterans Park from the tour boat, by the way. So, so much for Veterans Park. The lakefront is, without doubt, one of Milwaukee's greatest natural amenities. All of the city's most interesting neighborhoods lie along it. The Lake Michigan shoreline indents substantially at Milwaukee, creating a handsome-looking bay. It's not the Bay of Naples or anything, but it's nice. The tour starts downtown on the Milwaukee River, about a half-mile or so north of the entrance to the outer harbor. The boat chugs south through an old industrial/warehouse district, then under a tall, arched freeway bridge. In the harbor you can see a breakwater with an old lighthouse, numerous pleasure craft, the art museum and the city's skyline and the port's not-very-busy commercial piers. (Maybe with a freighter or two tied up alongside.) A decent variety of sights, I thought, especially for a Midwestern city. There's a small bar onboard the Iroquois. Being on the water aboard a big boat, sipping a cocktail, is one of the greatest pleasures of modern civilization, in my opinion.
