We decided to try out Iron Horse Hotel as a quick overnight getaway for our anniversary. Every staff person we dealt with was amazingly helpful and courteous! We decided our dinner at Smyth was one of the best dinners we've had in a long time. I was blown away by the knowledge of our waiter (re: food beyond even their menu). We will certainly consider returning.

We recently spent two nights at the Iron Horse Hotel in Milwaukee. We had been to our daughter's wedding in McHenry, IL., and decided to go to Milwaukee to visit the Harley-Davidson Museum, I booked the Iron Horse Hotel based on it's location (about a 10-minute walk to the museum) and reviews on Trip Advisor.

The hotel is located in a "warehouse" area and there isn't much around in the way of restaurants or shops. Check-in was a breeze and our room was ready.

The room was beautiful, with a king-size bed, 42-inch LG plasma high definition television, microwave, mini-bar, and one of the largest bathrooms I've ever seen in a hotel. There was no tub, but a huge walk-in shower. A unique feature of the bathroom was the glass wall that separated the bathroom from the rest of the room. It is not transparent, but can see shapes. A nice feature of the room was the dimmer lights which were very nice if someone had to use the bathroom at night.

We only lunch and dinner in the bar area, as the main restaurant was closed on Sunday and Monday. The food was very good; on Sunday night they had a rib-eye steak special with onion rings. We only found out about it from the people at the next table. Drinks were very good as they "free pour." We ate breakfast in the library. There are trestle tables that seat up to 8-1 0 people and we met some very nice people at breakfast. The buttermilk pancakes are very good, very light and crispy on the outside. You can get a half-order (2 pancakes) instead of a full order (4). The syrup is warm as is the cream for coffee.

I cannot say enough about the staff. We never saw a staff person who didn't smile and say hello.

I would highly recommend the Iron Horse Hotel to anyone going to the Harley-Davidson Museum. If you are going to be in the downtown area, this probably would not be a great location for you. If you are driving you will have to valet park your car; the rate is $25 per day. Motorcycle parking is free.

I cannot say enough about the staff. Everyone smiled and said "hi."

The Iron House is a unique interesting hotel with great service by all the staff we encountered. The staff excellent, the rooms very well done, well thought out and beautiful, the food fantastic, all this combined for a very relaxing and refreshing stay. Interesting collection of bike memorabilia and the handmade furniture is awesome. For the money ( great rates!) there isn't a better boutique hotel in Milwaukee. There wasn't anything the staff couldn't have done for us- honestly no need to look anywhere else. Have a great time enjoying this hotel!

We were traveling to Milwaukee to visit our grandson. This was our third trip there and we had a chance to do some sightseeing. We went to the Pabst mansion - if you intend to go there you can get a 50% off coupon at www.milwaukee.org!
Thanks to Travelzoo's top 20 (which I subscribe to their emails) we got 50% off of the Iron Horse Hotel. We weren't quite sure how the location would work out for us, but believe me it is in just the right spot, close to the Harley Davidson museum and Potawanami Casinoand the theater district. We went to the Florentine Opera and the public market. This hotel was so unique, the staff were incredibly top notch and the food was superb. I would recommend it highly and plan to stay there again.

Loved this hotel. Our room was beautifully decorated. The front desk service was wonderful, there was a glitch with our bill and J and Jason assisted us and were very helpful and apologetic. They were very nice about the situation and quite amusing while helping us. All staff that we came in contact with were very friendly and greeted us.

The hotel is in walking distance of the Harley Davidson Museum. We did walk to the Riverfront area, but it was a distance. I don't think that I would walk it alone or at night though.

I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Milwaukee and stay there again.
