The service and food at Zarletti are excellent. Their pasta is wonderful and I don't think the prices are too high either! Well worth a visit to this restaurant if you are a pasta lover. There is something for everyone!

Within walking distance of the historic Pfister hotel, Zarletti's restaurant is a must! Osso bucco (2 veal shanks) and tiramisu are grand recipes with substance and flavor! Excellent wine choices. Staff was one of the best for knowledge and assistance with the menu. Dinner was so wonderful we returned for lunch the next day! Lunch was a puree of carrot soup and an eggplant and homemade mozzarella panini. Awesome...the bar area serves single diners for lunch or dinner...

I did not expect this kind of restaurant in Wisconsin and they served some quite nice Italian-inspired food. We had a business dinner at this restaurant and the waiter was attentive enough not to hurry us through our courses. My experience as an European is that American waiters can rush you trhough your dinner leaving you not enough time for talking with your business relations, but our waiter respected this and gave us a good service. My dessert was a very American cheese cake, which tasted very good, but was far too big! What a waste not too eat everything, but it was just impossible after the rich pasta dish that I got as an entree.

As some of the other reviews warned, this is not a place that would compete well in the northeast. That said, they do a very good job with Italian food for a midwestern city, and we enjoyed our meal very much. We strongly recommend the halibut - it was prepared perfectly, and the crust and sauce were a perfect combination. Their tomato based sauces (our party had two dishes containing them) were ok, but lacked punch and flavor. The appetizer with crabbed-stuffed calamari was creative and well done. There is also a decent wine selection, though they served the prosecco in a regular red-wine glass (a ticky-tack point, but it was odd nonetheless). The place was also a bit noisy, though for a Friday night it wasn't too bad. Friendly service.

This has been a great Italian restaurant in Milwaukee for years now! Too bad the husband and wife split up! Oh well, that stuff happens but the restaurant remains very good.
