“Beautiful and friendly”

This historic property has kept its charm and combined it with modern comfort. The Victorian art collection is quite interesting.

The Pfister is one of those great old hotels that make traveling tolerable. It has the charm and character of a historic downtown hotel, but has been maintained in such a way that it is every bit as modern and comfortable as a high-end chain. The staff was first rate. The location is in downtown Milwaukee not too far from Lake Michigan, so all the dining and cultural options of Milwaukee (such as Maders Retaurant) are right at hand. This is a great old hotel that helps break up the monotony of business travel, and for those who don't travel much, this is a way to make your stay memorable.

Stayed in The Pfister for a wedding and it was a wonderful experience.
Stunning hotel, fabulous service and their concierge, Peter Mortensen, can help you locate Milwaukee's other gems (he is certainly one of them!)
Kids (9 & 12) loved the rooftop pool. Location can't be beat for seeing all of Milwaukee's treasures (Watt's Tea Shop for breakfast [again thank you Peter!], the waterfront, The 3rd Ward, Usinger's, Mader's, Cheese Mart).

Enjoyed my stay here highly recommendable. My wife stayed here for my birthday with our dog. Very friendly to our pup, and even some small patches of grass across the street which came in handy for dog trips outside. But as for the hotel itself Absolutely fabulous, we were both sick this weekend but wanted pampered by someone else and we were. Great room service and delivery practices. Spacious rooms bathroom was also nice big hot massage head shower. Restraunt in hotel was very yummy bit pricey but you pay for good food in downtown no surprise. Would tell anyone to stay here and looking forward to staying again.

Even so, it is 40 years since I was at The Colonade, and that was a freebie so I might be biased. But this Pfister trip was no accident. I have been coming to be spoiled for 30 years and it happens every time! Good guys at the door make a welcoming start. Pleasant folks at the desk sign you in as thought they were looking forward to seeing you. The Concierges smile and tell you good things to do. DO have breakfast, especially if you think the English do BREAKFAST. We dont know the half! And that piano..........

We stayed in this hotel as it was the location for dear friend's wedding reception. It was wonderful, clean, beautiful and had several great bars. The downstairs bar was a hot spot for our group and the wait staff was outstanding and very attentive. The rooms were spacious and clean. The bathrooms were also nice.

I ordered room service for lunch prior to the wedding and it was delicious!

The only downfall we had was the bar on the 23rd floor was overpriced (expected in hotel bars...) but the drinks were terrible. I think it was a combination of our choices from the menu and the very busy atmosphere. On the upside, they were understanding and took care of us.

I really love the Well Spa! I go there every few months or so to get a 60 minute "Relax Me" massage. The private rooms are wonderful, the masseuses and staff members are wonderful. They are great listeners and do an excellent job. Even though it's a little pricey for my budget, it's a great value for the way I feel afterward.
