“Nice hotel! A classic location in the middle of downtown Milwaukee”
Reviewed January 25, 2014

I wanted to try out this hotel for a while, but was sold out the first time I tried. One of the first things that came up when searching for the hotel was that some MLB players said it was haunted, and was so intrigued to figure out where they could have come up with that! I really like the concierge, and everyone there was really friendly. Would definitely choose that one again.

We come up from the Chicago suburbs just to stay at the Pfister. We had another exceptional experience this month, and we just ignored the single digit temperature outside. We prefer the historic part of the hotel and were most satisfied with the Pfister Double Suite, Room 506, facing east. Impeccable cleanliness in all section of the Suite -- the bathroom, separate sitting room, and bedroom with two queen beds. It's an honor to have the opportunity to stay in this historic gem. The staff is amazing.
And do find time for a drink and food on the 23rd floor lounge, Blu. Drinks are delicious, great service, amazing views. What are you waiting for?

Room Tip: We found Room 506 (the Pfister Double Suite-- offers more room than just a double), 5th floor, histo...

We stayed in the original section of the hotel. The lobby is beautiful, the staff was excellent, the wide hallways are reminiscent of olden days, and our room was modern and comfortable. We had a wonderful dinner at the Mason Street Grill. My tenderloin melted in my mouth.

Picked the Pfister for a first date impression and its closeness to the Bradley Center for the Pink Concert.Gonna be hard pressed to follow-up with an amazing place to stay. Front desk easily re-roomed me when I went to a dble regular room in Tower to a King suite in the original section.Very comfortable and the King size bed was 1 of the BEST Iv'e ever slept on, if you call 5am till 10am sleep..wink wink.Even paid less than my original direct online reservation.Rate was inclusive of valet parking/Wi-Fi/ Pfister Club passes. Food and drinks were enjoyed in front of the fireplace.Blu lounge was a perfect quaint place to unwind after the concert, and Matt was very attentive to our thirst and hunger needs..the shrimp's and meat/cheese platter was the best..Brunch @ the sidewalk cafe was very good. Missed the Pfister Club for breakfast and bloody marys..next visit for sure..and the icing on the cake was when we were checking out, the bellhop accidentally let my cooler open and smashed a 2/3 full 1.75 of vodka..the staff was quick to remedy the situation and Paul the manager showed up with a replacement bottle before they would let me go..Very Top Shelf Classy..and appreciated. Keep up the GR8T work.

We stayed Dec. 30 and Dec 31, 2013. The hotel was fully dressed for Christmas and lovely as always. We booked at the last minute due to a change in other plans, but secured a room on the 18th floor of the Tower, allowing us to look south, east, and north. The view was spectacular! Upon checking in, we noticed a couple of poster boards showing how the rooms in the Tower will look after renovation this winter with expected changes concluded by the end of March. Unfortunately, the workmen happened to be working on Dec. 31st so we were able to hear them drilling (my husband wanted to sleep in). I would suggest requesting a room as far away from the workmen as possible or a room in the original section of the hotel which is where we typically stay due to the grandeur of the original rooms. Our room price included both parking and breakfast. We did have some issues with the room service this time, which is quite unusual. The first day the omelette was missng and the second day the oatmeal was too cool. All issues were immediately corrected to our satisfaction. We were disappointed by the Continental breakfast which used to contain a basket of pastries and muffins. The Continental now consists of some fruit slices, a bowl of yogurt (not listed in the menu description), and one danish, or muffin, or croissant. We chose the danish which was very small. We also experienced loud talking in the room next to us and the smell of smoke apparently coming from the same room the morning of checkout. We called the front desk and both issues were resolved. We were given a financial break on the bill for the issues mentioned. Although the area was hit by very cold and snowy weather, our room was comfortable and warm. We enjoyed room service from the hotel's restaurant, The Mason Street Grille, on New Year's Eve and found it to be absolutely delicious! Room service that evening was top-notch! We definitely would return as it is one of the loveliest hotel in the Midwest.

Room Tip: I would suggest requesting a room with a view of the lake...some of the best views are found in room...

Love this hotel. Still the Grand Dame of Milwaukee. Service was great, the room was warm and comfortable. Nice entertainment in the bar and in the restaurant. Staff is very attentive. The only problem is that they charge $100 for a small dog, less than ten pounds, to spend the night with us. If we don't have the dog along, we will stay here again.

Room Tip: Take advantage of the offered discounted upgrades on-line.

Eagerly-awaited getaway-turned-weeping boil. From mishandled reservation, to $25/night self-park, to $10 wifi, to plumbing issues (room #1), to plumbing issues (room #2), to complete lack of heat during epic MKE cold snap (room #2).... What can I say? Sweet desk staff and rocking bellhop. Unfortunately, I'm paying for four-star comforts. And, enjoying hypothermia in what feels like my grandparent's den.
