“Favorite Diner”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

A great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner, pie, coffee or beer (Capitol Brewery on tap!). Have tried a variety of their items, and everything is great. Charming retro vibe, clean, great service and great pie. Usually there's a wait to be seated, but nothing excessive and it's well worth it.

“Great lunch!”
Reviewed August 13, 2013 via mobile

Didn't have to wait on a Tuesday around 1:15 in the afternoon. The waitresses suggestions were great! She stirred us in the right direction for pie as well. All the reviews are correct. This is a must stop.

“Great food and desserts!”
Reviewed August 12, 2013

Hubbard Ave. Diner is one of our go-to places to eat in Madison. We are never disappointed by the great food. On this visit we went specifically for dessert. You can spend a lot of time drooling over the dessert case trying to make up your mind. My husband choose Red Velvet Cake with a caramel pecan filling that he really enjoyed. I had a slice of coconut cream pie that was full of coconut and flavor. Our son had a milkshake made with Wisconsin's Chocolate Cow ice cream in his favorite flavor-Zanzibar Chocolate. The milkshakes are very generous and they give you the container to refill your glass with. We had to ask for a to-go cup for what was left. In our opinion, you can never go wrong at the Hubbard Ave. Diner and Bakery.

“Great Breakfast Spot, limited Healthy Food Options”
Reviewed August 11, 2013 via mobile

This is a great classic, Wisconsin diner. The breakfast are truly superb although you might be able to feel your veins and arteries collapse. The fried omelettes, fried eggs, potatoes and the wheat toast is not the healthy choices. It is truly unfortunate that a great little diner like this doesn't have very many healthy options. If you're looking for a stick to your ribs breakfast, this is the spot.

“Meatloaf and Pie, oh my!”
Reviewed August 9, 2013

What a fun place! Wish we had one in our town... Because we were there on a Saturday night, we had to wait for a seat, but the wait was no bother, as we spent it tasting the pie samples in their current pie contest. We were seated in a booth, which in a diner is just awesome, and received really great service. My husband's comfort food of choice is meatloaf, and he was not disappointed with Hubbard's version. Super tasty and the mashed potatoes were great too! Daughter and I loved our burger and turkey sandwich respectively and we all took some dessert back to the hotel. Hubby and I loved our banana cake and daughter devoured her banana creme pie. A great place, we hope to visit again and again when we are in the area.
