We came to a family wedding in Madison and were really pleased when we arrived after a long drive into a large, well thought out and comfortable suite. The hotel is clean and well-maintained. The "light touch cleaning" was not at all light touch and we were pleased with the helpful staff and the attitude they showed towards us. The rooms can be noisy, but in fact are very quiet considering that the hotel is right next to the freeway. The air con could have been more powerful (it was 82degrees even in mid October!), but Staybridge will be on my list for future trips.

  • Liked — Free wifi, free printing, clean and spacious
  • Disliked — The aircon could be stronger

Besides being charged twice on my Debit card, the customer service was terrible. They had us registered in the wrong room, quoted the wrong rates, and one of the employees even refused to honor the rate that we were told the night before while already staying there a night. The hotel was nice. Amenities were nice, but customer service goes a LONG way and making mistakes with someone's Debit card and being extremely rude took our opinion of the hotel down enough that we won't be staying again and wouldn't recommend them.

Excellent expierence! My new job sent me to WI for training for 3 weeks and I stayed at the Staybridge Suite and simply loved it!!! They bed was hella comfy and I really enjoyed the free washer and dryer. The staff was very friendly. Tues-Thur is free happy hour nights with free beer and wine. Great way to socialize! Will definetly reccommend to others! ENJOY!

I have stayed at this hotel a few times for work and it has been good everytime. The location is good for me because my office is on the same road. Also there are a lot of restaurants close and easy to get to for dinner.

Rooms: The suites are really big. All of mine (I'm assuming the whole hotel) have kitchenettes, couches and a separate bedroom. Its nice to have a couch to sit on to watch TV. Both rooms have big TV's.

Beds: The beds are OK. They aren't the most comfortable but they are OK for a few nights.

Bathroom: No problems here either. Basic hotel bathroom.

Internet: They have high speed in all rooms.

Breakfast: Usually a really good breakfast with a good selection. They have a different main food every morning plus all the regulars.

Dinner: Everynight the hotel has a managers reception which is really good also. They have different food everynight plus beer, wine and other drinks. They call it a reception but there is enough to eat dinner if you don't want to head out.

Check-out: No problems here. Easy and quick.

ROOMS CLOSE TO HIGHWAY. I have never had a room close to the highway but co-workers have and they hated it. You can hear the semi's breaking and rolling down the highway. I would suggest if you get one of these rooms to see if you can change.

Overall: I like the hotel and I'll continue to stay there on work trips.

I stayed at this property while in town on business. 4 nights were too long. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. When I spoke with the manager I was told the beds had just received new "toppers" . My suggestion is they get new mattresses.
Rooms were very noisy - walls thin and tv's and conversations as well as traffic from the parking lot and freeway made the sleeping conditions undesirable.

Front desk staff were very nice and helpful, breakfast was very good and had a lot of variety. Lobby area had a nice location for meeting friends. Pool, business center and meeting rooms were very nice. Noise and hard beds were the biggest problems I had but those are two of the most important factors in a comfortable hotel room.

the location is nice if you need to be on the west side of Madison.. it's in a nice neighborhood near a variety of cafes, shops, etc.. if you want to spend the weekend on the outskirts of Madison where you can walk to various venues, the Staybridge is a good choice based on where it is

however, I wasn't very impressed with the accommodations of the hotel itself.. I rarely make use of hotel pools and workout rooms, and honestly, I never bother with a continental breakfast.. so I can't vouch for those amenities at all.. perhaps that would be important to you, but about the only thing that is important to me in a hotel room is being able to get a good nights sleep.. and that wasn't the case at the Staybridge

the hotel is built for economy, not luxury.. while nice and clean, the "suite" I stayed in was only slightly larger than a regular hotel room.. but it did include a fully-functioning fridge/stove/sink, and I never felt crowded in or cramped, so I'd say the layout was fine for a day or two.. I doubt I'd be comfortable there for any extended time, tho

however, the rooms need to be better isolated from external noise.. you can hear tvs and conversations in the adjacent rooms, and you'll definitely hear any doors closing/slamming in the hallway.. it sounds as it if were your door being smacked shut

then there is the highway noise.. the hotel is right next to the beltline.. if your room is located on that side of the building, you'll be hearing semis, motorcycles and sundry other road traffic quite clearly until that settles down (around 3am in Madison)

another issue with my room was a tempermental air conditioning unit that had its own agenda.. it decided to shut off at midnight and refused to work again until 8am, at which point I was freezing and couldn't shut it off

people who are used to a lot of noise probably will like the place.. but if you're a light sleeper like I am, I'd suggest looking elsewhere

recently spent a night here for family reunion. The location was actually quite convenient, just off the beltline, only about 10-15 minutes from downtown, just go down university avenue. Hotel was great, very nice, clean. Good breakfast and high speed internet included for my laptop! Also, unlike many suburban hotels, you were right next to the "downtown" of middleton, and could walk to restaurants and shops, also walk among the lovely neighborhoods. We ate right next door at "griglia tuscany" , which had very good food, reasonable price, great atmosphere. I highly recommend!
