“Accomodating and comfortable”

I stayed here for two consecutive weeks for EPIC training with a large group of coworkers and we had a very nice stay overall. The BEST part of our stay was Michael, one of the Shuttle Bus drivers. He was so friendly and helpful. The policy of the hotel is that they provide a complimentary shuttle (you must make a reservation) to explore/eat/shop within a 2-3 mile radius from the hotel, and he was more than happy to cart all of us around! He even had some great recommendations for restaurants. Kudos to Michael!

The hotel restaurant, the Falling Water Cafe, is just OK for food. The salads, in my opinion, were the best thing on the menu. The Bar has great drinks for great value. The breakfast buffet was great to grab a hot meal (omelette bar!) and the morning wait staff were very accomodating and knew we had to grab and go to catch the EPIC shuttles.

A few people in my group had items that went missing -- cell phone charger and headphones -- and one was replaced.

I was pleasantly surprised when I checked in and was upgraded to a suite. Clean, very comfortable bed. The hotel is designed to be open in the center, with all of the room doors facing out into the atrium. While noisy out in the hallway, it was not in the room. There is a restaurant and bar in the center of the lobby level, conference rooms for meetings and a decent concierge lounge. Very close to the airport, with the University and Hospital about a 15 minute drive. The rooms had been updated, and were configured in the typical Marriott style. I had no complaints here - it was lively downstairs, and a clean and comfortable room and bed. The staff were excellent, courteous and extremely pleasant. Great place to stay for business. Off the beaten path if you want to be in the University area.

This is the kind of hotel, in design, that one expects would host a variety of conventions and events. Convention rooms, banquet rooms and meeting rooms abound. A large and open atrium-type lounge/restaurant/bar off of main entrance with view to 10th floor ceiling greets the guests. Bar was good, but a bit expensive. Bar staff was efficient and friendly. Do not eat the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant. Extremely overpriced, the tasteless and undercooked food was nauseous. It was one of the worst dining experiences I have encountered. The staff seemed constantly overworked and were borderline competent, despite the empty tables. The hotel might have been training some new personnel, but that is only a guess.
Our $100+/night room was a bit of a disappointment as we only had a view of the convention center rooftop. No refrigerator or microwave in room. During our four day convention and stay at the hotel the noisy air conditioner could not compete with the external humidity and heat and subsequently dripped water into the room 24/7. Very annoying at night. We had to resort to putting towels down on the floor to avoid stepping onto soaking wet carpeting. Notifying the hotel staff about the problem did not correct the situation. But what would you expect from a hotel that decided to ‘upgrade’ an elevator during heavy tourist season. Some upper floor guests had 20-30 minute waits with heavy luggage.
Overall we have mixed feelings about the hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed relaxing with our friends in the bar and lounge, but our room left us feeling very frustrated with the experience.

Room Tip: Stay on the second floor which is easy to access by stairwell. Elevator service questionable.

Smiles. That's what met me when I walked in the door. That first smile makes the trip.
It's my second time at this Marriott, and I would not hesitate on coming back here again.
Later that night, I went down to ask a question, and again, I was greeted with a smile.
And, yep, when I checked out, well, don't have to finish this sentence.
Room was clean. Not to fancy, but up to date.
No noise. Even though I was next to a bachelor "get together".
One of the closet doors would not shut w/o a push, but that's getting picky.
I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is slipping in all categories unfortunately. Had to call for washcloths. Tub drained extremely slowly. Restaurant for dinner had the bartender serving and he did his best but was no waiter. Breakfast scrambled eggs were almost edible. So sad since a year ago I had a great overall experience.

The rooms and facilities are fairly generic and dated. The location doesn't offer the most convenient access to many attractions. However the staff is so friendly and helpful, that I will definitely return. The shuttle driver, Michael is professional, helpful and really goes the extra mile to ensure guests are well taken care of. Overall an average hotel with some exceptional staff.

I've traveled a lot - and for the price - this is a great hotel. If you have kids - the pool is wonderful. We stay here when we go to visit friends and its hard to leave the hotel. The breakfast buffet is great deal and the staff and hotel is very laid back and nice. I highly recommend it for families. Rooms are not particularly large - but I usually don't mind - they are clean and well kept.
