We got lost trying to locate another semi-local craft brewhouse and our friend Bill knew there was another in the area since he was here years ago.
With some luck we located the Capital Brewery in Middleton, WI, just outside Madison. The rain was coming down and we seeked shelter in the beer garden. The tour wouldn't start for another 20 minutes - just enough time to suck down a brew.
The rain pelted the tin roof shelter but the weather was warm and we were amongst happy patrons and lively bartenders.
The tour was informative and casual. The gift shop prices were reasonable. The beer was incredible. We returned outside to dryer weather and sat with others to enjoy multiple, generous samples of the beers on tap.
Good friends, good beer, good location - life is good even on a cruddy day.
The only downfall? Despite the rain the quantity of people on the tour was just over 50. A crowd this large didn't easily fit into all areas and so it was rather hard at times to hear the guide.
