The hotel connected with the ski resort is adequate but likely fits the bill as a two star hotel. The lofty price per night is worth since you can almost ski to you room. Nice family place that could use a face lift and deep scrub.

This year we are taking our kids back to Devils Head for skiing. We have made this trip the past three years and have been very happy with our experience. The staff is fantastic and the rooms are very basic. We consider this like other ski lodges we have visited - very rough/basic accommodations in a fantastic setting. The Lodge rooms are small & older but they really meet our needs being clean, functional and located right at the bottom of the slopes. If you need/want nicer accommodations, the Resort does have modern condos along the golf course. Great location for Midwest Skiing, Very Friendly Staff, Very Basic Dorm/Ski Lodge type rooms - All at a Great Value! Note, the indoor pool water is very cold..

This is a basic room with very few amenities. The tv was tiny with only network channels, the fridge did not work properly. The furnishings are poor. Those limitations aside, the rate was $60, the bathroom had been partially renovated, the room was spacious and clean. There is a lot of noise from the families and drinkers (the bar is popular). People stay here because they are skiing, and that's about the only good reason.

I just had my wedding here and everything went off without a hitch! From the day we arrived the staff made us feel very comfortable. They were all very polite and helpful. When we received the list of our guests that were staying at the hotel, we asked if some of the rooms could be moved around and they were more than happy to accommodate all our requests. Of all those guests that I asked how their stay was that were there for the weekend, no one had any complaints. They all really liked the rooms and the pool and hot tub.
The wedding coordinator was there to help and made us feel comfortable every step of the way. The reception room was set up on time with the tables so that we could go in and put all the finishing touches on. The day of the ceremony went very smoothly. We had it outside in the back and it was just beautiful! The reception started on time and the food came out perfect. Everyone commented on how good the dinner was.
Thanks, Devils Head, for a very memorable wedding weekend!

I just went here for a wedding... I was freaked out from the reviews I read which gave me very low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't that bad...

I even brought febreeze and scented candles, my own towel and sheets, but didn't need them. People are overreacting in their reviews unless this place suddenly got better.... Ok, it's not the St Regis... But, it's ok for a night or two... And at $86 a night, what can you really expect??

I had a wonderful time!

God forsaken hell hole! Almost ruined my daughter's wedding...claim to be a wedding venue. The place is a dirty dump. They put us in a building so musty and grungy that they had dehumidifiers running in the halls, and the dehumidifiers showed humidity at 80 & 90 percent. By midnight we were on our 6th room! When we went to our 5th room, someone was in it! The guy was understanding though...said that the first room they assigned him to had someone in it! Incompetent staff! We had to drag our suitcases, etc to each room which were in different buildings, and there are no elevators. We weren't the only ones who had to change rooms...in fact, they finally agreed to reduce the rate to $50/room...and totally comped mine and the entire wedding party's... didn't matter...even for free, it was a rip off!! Anyhow, by Sat morning, we were trying to move on and enjoy the wedding day...when some drunken scumbag yelled "housekeeping" and barged into the room where my daughter and the bridesmaids were getting dressed, and tried to grope them. They yelled at him to make him leave, and he came right back. Although they finally called the police on this dirtbag, they didn't want to. Found out the next morning that this fool had been kicked off their golf course. No staff called the Lodge with a warning or even followed him. I was told that they thought he was fine and would just head back to his room to go to sleep. Really?? I won't go into more detail, but suffice it to say that I agree with every criticism in these reviews and think that any positive ones were written by a Devil's Head manager. With few exceptions, their staff were incompetent, rude, sullen and disrespectful. I'm so thankful that on her wedding day, my daughter, her fiance, friends and family were able to transcend this unbelieveably scummy hotel of hell!

Room Tip: No good rooms, noisy a/c units.

We were prepared not to like this resort. We were there for a family wedding and spent four nights there. After a short time, the "rustic" feeling grew on us and we were quite comfortable. The staff were very nice and accommodating and wanted to help in whatever way they could. Only had one breakfast there (it was good), and the dinner for the wedding (which was also good). The biggest drawback was no elevator. Schlepping up two flights of stairs with lots of stuff (heavy cooler filled with beer, etc.), was the worst ever. Would not hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: Take the first floor overlooking the pool.
