Lunch at The Pines is always part of the annual trip an old buddy and I take to the Turtle-Flambeau Flowage for a week of walleye fishing and extreme ritual liver punishment. The owners are wonderful people who provide great service and conversation, and their homemade dishes really hit the spot for a very reasonable price. I'm partial to the pizza, which has a zesty flavor and a light, fluffy crust made from their biscuit batter, and the lightly battered potato pancakes. The soup of the day is also worth checking out. The restaurant isn't fancy by any means, but it's comfortable and they make you feel right at home. Can't ask for more than that.
