What a great walk or bike ride. Be sure to check out the old railroad bridge close to Durand. Great beach.

Bike trail (and walking trail) is very pretty...but even better is the Red Cedar River that it rund along. Whether you take your own canoe/kayak or rent from the outfitters right there, it is a beautiful, relatively shallow, relatively fast flowing river that goes about 9 miles downstream and opens into the Chippewa River which then eventually joins the Mississippi. Absolutely beautiful. And, just about 3 miles down the river or trail is a lovely old restaurant and pottery place, made from an old abandoned creamery.

Very scenic! We liked being able to rent bikes at a reasonable rate per day
