I visited during March 2012 when there was a display of local children's artwork. It was well done and it was fun to watch families there with the kids looking at their work. The main Mansion facility was interesting and on a sleepy Saturday it was just me and one other family. I bought some notecards at the gift shop and was able to chat with the director, who encouraged me to return to see the permanent collections. Staff was helpful in suggesting a coffee shop and location for a walk to spend a few hours after touring the museum. Donations accepted, but not required for admission.
