Great location on the lake, near Museum and a decent restaurant, Harborside. Good views, Coast Guard along side the property. Large room but smelled stale and dank with a tiny bathroom. Breakfast was decent. Take it to the patio right outside the breakfast area for a nice view.

The Best Western Lakefront Hotel in Manitowoc has a perfect location...next to Lake Michigan with Mariners Trail right outside your window! I loved the naval theme decorating in the lobby with paintings of old sailors and walls decorated with wooden oars, even a wooden boat hanging from the ceiling! The staff was extremely helpful; the breakfast was above average (fresh fruit, hot sausages & eggs, make-your-own waffles, yogurt, etc.), the rooms were clean and comfortable, plus the hot tub and pool were excellent.
On the down side, the halls were stuffy with no air flow. We were so pleased to have a third floor room overlooking the lake and biking trail, but the windows were very dirty--inside and out. This definitely took away from the wonderful view.
I would still return because of the location and value. Mariners Trail rocks!

Room Tip: Request a third floor room close to the water

Just a one night stay on the way back home from a business trip. Hotel is right on the lake, next to a 5.5 mile Bike path along the shore. Can walk out to the light house from the hotel. Also many local restaurants near by.

I had reserved one of the larger King room online and had made a request for a room with a view of the lake. When I arrived they had not assigned a room to me due to the larger rooms not having a lake view. Glad they asked. I opted for a smaller King with a view and was glad that I did. My room was on the side away from the parking lot and had a view of the ferry but not the sunrise. I'd recommend asking for a room on the parking lot side for a view of the sunrise over the lake in the morning.

A $77 military rate makes this a slam dunk.

Room Tip: Request a room with a lake view on the parking lot side of building and you can watch the sunrise ov...

Recently I traveled to Manitowoc and decided to stay at the Best Western Lakefront due to its location on Lake Michigan. After driving several hours and visiting several sights I was tired and decided to see if I could check in early. The clerk was very helpful and checked to see if a room was available. Not only was a room available but it was a lake view room. The room was very nice, good beds and pillows. I enjoyed being able to step out the door and walk along Lake Mchigan. There are not many restaurants nearby so I decided to eat in the hotel pub. They offer appitizers, salads and several sandwiches. My hamburger was very large and they provided a large portion of fries. I liked it because I was able to eat a nice distance from the bar. The pool and hot tub were also great. They have a very nice hot breakfast and the breakfast room is large, a former dining room. The staff was wonderful as was my stay.

Room Tip: You may want to request a lake view room as the view is great.

We don't go for fancy hotels or spas - we're staying there to sleep and keep our stuff while we're out playing tourist. The Best Western was very clean, the hotel was conveniently located in town, and very comfortable. We were able to get one of the lakeview rooms - just lovely. (Next time we'll go for the north side, though, so the view will include the sunrise and marina.)
Staff - front desk and cleaning persons - were all very friendly and helpful.
We didn't take advantage of the continental breakfast offered, but there were plenty of other guests who did, so it must have been good. There is a restaurant and bar in the hotel with a nice enough menu, but we didn't take advantage of that either. There was also an indoor pool that looked clean and well maintained.

Room Tip: Try to get on the parking lot side facing the marina to take advantage of the sunrise view!

Called and was told I would get a call back in five minutes. Never returned my call. Called back the next night and was put on hold for a few minutes. Excited to stay at a hotel that welcomes pets. Will be bringing my two great danes along for the stay. $20 dollar charge for the two-night stay. Not a bad deal. Will review after we have actually stayed at the hotel.

After staying here, I'm not sure why anyone would stay at any of the other hotels in Manitowoc. It's right on Lake Michigan. You can step right out the back door and walk along the lakeshore. It's clean and reasonably priced. It has a hot breakfast bar. It has a sizeable indoor pool, hot tub and even a sauna. The staff was friendly. The wifi had an excellent connection.

It's within walking distance to several nice and even quaint resteraunts. You have to check out Beerntsen's which is about 2 blocks away. (But dodge Harborside for dinner unless you recently won the lottery!).

It's right next to the bike trail and even though I'm not a bycycle enthusiast, it was so beautiful, I'm reconsidering.

It was so nice and so beautiful, we were shocked how few people were there! If you're looking for a close, nice and reasonably priced getaway from the Milwaukee area, put this one on your short list.

Room Tip: Our second night there were some kids running upstairs and the noise came through, so if you are a l...
