We arrived early on Friday and rooms weren't ready yet, but "Jimmy" told us they'd be ready in an hour, so we asked what was around, told us about the ferry. We went to Lodi, met some great, friendly people there, had a fun couple of hours before returning to hotel. Alisa was at the desk and was checking in some people for a family reunion, computers went down, but she kept her cool, similed, and didn't panic. The rooms were clean, and large. The staff is very helpful and gave us some great places to eat and some pointers about where we were going to in the Dells. Yes, there is a dairy farm across the road, but the "odor" was only outside. Breakfast was good, basics and enough to get you started. Overall, the hotel is quiet, clean and friendly. Can't say enough about the staff that interacted with, Jimmy, Alisa, great Job. We would recommend staying there for anyone that wants to stretch their dollar. 30 min drive to the Dells and about the same to Madison.

Nobody mentioned the fact that this hotel is located in the midst of cattle farms. The interior did not smell but it was unbearable even walking to our car. I realize that Best Western has no control over wind direction but for someone who brings a dog and needs to be outside this is not a pleasant experience.

We had two rooms here for two days. Check-in was smooth and the staff was friendly. Rooms were on 2nd floor and spacious. Front faces the Interstate and sound of trucks might be an issue (not for me). Back faces residential area, very quiet. I routinely the check the bed: fresh clean sheets and no critters. Overall cleanliness was excellent, especially the bathroom which was spotless. Rate was reasonable for the area + got a 30% discount on PL. Location is just off I-90, not really close to anything, but OK for a visit to Madison or Wisc Dells if nothing else available. The village of Lodi is a nice visit if you have time on your hands. The breakfast had healthy options: hardboiled eggs, juice, yogurt, dry cereal, oatmeal packets, plus the dreaded waffle maker. Usual in-room amenities.
One thing to note: the rolling farmland you see across the road has the bad side-effect of leaving excessive nitrates in the water due to fertilizer run-off. There is a notice of "High Levels of Nitrate in Drinking Water" in the room. This won't harm healthy adults and children over 6 months, but you might want to bring in bottled water. (Really, the management should provide it free.)
There's a gas-station nearby with fast food options, snacks, beer and wine. In conclusion, I would stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

I'm on the road at least 1-2 nights a week for work... The first thing I do when I get to my room is check to make sure the sheets have been changed. This is the second time I've had to request a different room here because the sheets hadn't been changed since the last person who slept in that room. Yeah, nasty. Besides that, it's actually a great hotel... just check the sheets!

My husband and I stayed at Countryside Inn for our 20th wedding anniversary. We had a great time although we would have liked to enjoy a beverage or two at the pool. No food or drink allowed in pool area! We got a whirlpool room the second night we stayed. Let me tell you there is no graceful way to get in and out of these tubs. A couple hand holds would help.
The gal that was at the front desk during the day was friendly but defiantly needs some lessons on professionalism. Get rid of your flip flops at work and at least try to be graceful.
All in all we had a nice stay. Clean rooms, free breakfast, pool, hot tub, not a bad price.

This hotel was absolutely fantastic! The staff was extremely friendly, the bathroom was HUGE, the room was spotless, the continental breakfast was great, the pool was fine, WHAT ELSE COULD YOU ASK FOR? We stayed at this hotel because we had to go to a wedding in Sauk City. Although this hotel is 20 minutes from Sauk City, it was well worth it! The location of the hotel is fine . . . there's a Rocky Rococo's, a Cousins Subs, and an A&W down the street -- all in the same building, which was very convenient. The staff was especially helpful -- they even let us check into our hotel room at noon, since we wanted to check in before the 1:30 wedding. This hotel offers Wi-Fi in public places, but the rooms are "hard-wired," so you must bring your ethernet cable along. Otherwise, this was the newest (built in 2004), cleanest, and friendliest hotel I have ever stayed in! STAY HERE! YOU'LL BE GLAD YOU DID!! :)
