This is a bar and restaurant combination. In the front is the bar and in the back the restaurant. The bar is almost always busy with mostly locals. The restaurant offers very good food that is consistently good to very good. They have very good homemade soups and amazing potato pancakes on Friday night for the fish fry. On Monday they have a chicken special for $7.00 which can't be beaten for the price. In the summer it's always crowded on Mondays where locals and tourists have dinner first and then go to Snowshoe Baseball. The pan fried walleye is always good and always on the menu. The prime rib on Saturdays is a huge hunk of meat which is great if that's what you are going for. It's doubtful you are going to find a "great" meal in Northern Wisconsin but the Shamrock does serve up a consistently good meal and is good value for the money.
