This restaurant is a charming house that has been converted to a restaurant. The service was paced so that you didn't feel rushed. The She Crab soup was fantastic. They have specials every nite and we like it so much, we ate there twice the week we were in Lake Geneva

My fiancé and I love to eat at this restaurant. Their steaks are delicious especially with the sauce/ gravy served with the dish. The prime rib is also excellent. The service is always friendly and excellent. We come here to celebrate birthdays as well as to enjoy a good meal. We love this restaurant.

Great visual appeal both inside and out. Very helpful staff. Food is disappointing.
The soup upgrade to "she-crab" was surprisingly costly ($5). The walleye should have been half the price considering the small portion size.
I agree with whoever said that this was a good place for ladies luncheons.

Little hard to find, but well worth the effort. Service was impeccable and food was excellent. We had a reunion group of 12 and were treated like we were royalty.

After seeing the mixed bag of reviews for this restaurant an opportunity to check it out for ourselves finally presented itself. The Sunday brunch menu offered a variety of selections, from breakfast to lunch to dinner-style offerings.

Among us, we had the pork schnitzel (breaded pork tenderloin) with hunter sauce and fresh vegetables, open face steak sandwich with mushrooms and onions, chicken salad and quiche du jour. Several of our party also had a cup of "She Crab" soup as our appetizer and it was unanimously agreed that it was excellent. It's a pricey addition at $5, but it falls in line with the generally upscale pricing of the restaurant...which may cause some to balk. The pricing may be considered a bit on the high end by some, the fact is that one receives PLENTY of food on one's plate, and it is very good indeed. None of us needed to eat that evening as we were still full from our early afternoon lunch. In that view, we received exceptional value for the cost of our meals.

The building itself has several rooms which can accommodate groups or individuals. It is more of a home layout than restaurant, with the exception of the entryway past the host/hostess station being the main cooking area on full view...a bit odd for the main entryway, one in our party mentioned.

We also tried deserts: red velvet cake and cheesecake. Large portions and very yummy!

The hospitality was first rate, from our greeting by the owner to several visits to our table to check to see if everything was OK. Our waitress was also very nice and checked on us often enough, although twice set an order down for the wrong person. It happens.

If one is looking for hip, trendy decor, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a good and plentiful meal, presented in comfortable surroundings (albeit one without much of a view), at a reasonable price relative to the value of the meal received, then try The Red Geranium.
