Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Lake Geneva Resort
Reviewed June 5, 2012

We use trip advisor to plan and review or trips so we are as honest as we can be when reviewing.this hotel/resort is going down the drain.the tv,s are old and make a buzzing noise, the walls are very thin so we constantly heard evrytime someone used the water on both ends of the room.the fan in the bedroom shock so hard we had to turn it off in the middle of the night which woke us both up.the dryer door handle was broken and just put back in the slot meaning that when pulled you smack yourself in the face.checkout is at 10am and they almost denied a later checkout time although the resort was very empty with only a few cars on the premises.we won't be staying here anymore, the first time was ok but now its getting very motelish, there are many cheaper and better options close to the lake.

We are owners in the Holiday Inn Club but this was our first visit to the Lake Geneva property. We stayed there for three nights during the week in early May so crowds were not an issue. The Club buildings are located a much larger property and you must check in at the Grand Geneva main lodge building. This would have been nice to know ahead of time. (The valet parking for check-in was a little over the top in my opinion.) Thank goodness for GPS! We did receive a handy map of all the amenities on the property after we registered. (See posted photo.) The Club units are just down the hill from the lodge and our patio overlooked a fairway and green on the golf course. The view was pleasing since we're golfers. Our unit was very clean with its own jetted soaking tub. There are two sinks/mirrors in different rooms which helped us get out the door faster in the morning. The kitchenette had everything we needed EXCEPT a wine opener. The staff we encountered were always pleasant. We spent most of this visit off the property but we'll definitely be back and check out the amenities next time.

Greetings from Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Lake Geneva Resort. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us. As a TripAdvisor top contributor you must know a thing or two about how to really travel the right way. It’s always nice to give yourself a treat and really get away during a vacation season that is not as crowded as others. We apologize if check-in was confusing for you, but we are glad that the staff was able to direct you and answer all of your questions. Thanks so much for posting the pictures of the grounds and villa. Future travelers will surely expect a treat of what they have to look forward to between the pictures and great description you give of the villas. We’re sorry that your villa did not have a wine opener, and we hope that the staff was able to assist you in any needs that arose during your stay. We hate that you were not able to take advantage on the on-site amenities and agree that a return visit soon is the perfect way to do that. We look forward to having you back anytime.

Room was much nicer than expected especially considering the price. Located on a golf course and the only Playboy Club it has a ton to see and do being part of Grand Geneva. We will be back!

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Lake Geneva on 4/14/12. We normally stay at the Grand Geneva, but their prices were a little over the top for that weekend. The Holiday Inn is conveniently located adjacent to the Grand Geneva. The rooms are large and we really like the small kitchen that is included. We couldn't believe there was an actual washer/dryer combo in the bathroom closet. Nice feature. We love to go to the bar at the Grand Geneva but didn't really want to use the car. We called the Concierge at the Grand Geneva and asked for the trolley to pick us up. I asked how long it would take, (we were planning on walking up the really steep hill to get there instead) :). Grand Geneva asked when we wanted them there, I told them 10 minutes and that's exactly when they showed up. We were also able to take the trolley back at the end of the night. This worked perfect for us. The only thing that I thought was ridiculous was that there was a sign on the refrigerator telling us that it would be helpful if we took the garbage out and loaded the dishwasher and that check-out was at 10:00 a.m. It's not like we paid $35 for the room.. I laughed at this sign. We always leave our rooms as picked up as possible and yes, I did load the dishwasher with the few glasses that we used.. a little strange. Check-out was too early as well. I would stay there again,

Room Tip: We were in unit 641. I believe this is a newer building than the others.

Hi there Kat. Thank you so much for taking the time to review your stay. We’re so glad that your chance stay with us turned out to be a great experience for you. We hope that you will consider us your new home away from home in the future, as you seemed to have enjoyed the room and amenities. How convenient that the trolley was able to make your evening that much more fun. We bet not a lot of your friends can say that they had a trolley to chauffeur them around on their vacation. We apologize if you did not care for the signage in your room, but we do appreciate you helping us out. Hope to see you soon.

We had trouble finding the complex. It is not well marked - in fact not signed at all. This is Hugh Hefner's former Playboy Club and the scenary and grounds are impeccable. Look for the Grand Geneva Resort sign and follow directions. We found the Holiday Inn Club accomodations suitable, but not what we expected, or what we were accustomed to with Orange Lake properties. It was noisy, small and not comfortable at all. The Grand Geneva, which you have access to is very nice, but very 1970's. I found it to be rather dark and costly. Dinner for two will run you $150 or so. To get to the Spa/Fitness center you have to drive, but it is nice, as is the exercise/sporting equipment. We enjoyed going into Lake Geneva the best of all. Quaint shops and unique eating places.

Hello Bobbi. Thank you for your review of your stay with us. We are disappointed to hear that you were dissatisfied with your accommodations as so many of our guests rave about their sophistication. You are correct that this resort is different from Holiday Inn Club Vacations at Orange Lake Resort. As it is a resort within a larger shared property. We apologize if finding your way around the resort was tricky, but the way you describe the area and grounds it sounds like it was worth the wait. We hope that we have the opportunity to host you again in the future.

This property is attached to the Grand Geneva Resort. The good news is that you have access to all the Grand Geneva amenities (indoor pool, waterpark for a fee, golf). Now for the bad news. We used some RCI points to stay here for the weekend in the Fall. The Holiday Inn resort is at the very end of the Grand Geneva property, on the golf course. It's nice to watch people golfing from your room, but the walls of the suites are pretty thin. We could hear so much noice from both sides of our room that it was quite disturbing at night. Also, you have to drive to get to any of the shared amenities (spa, indoor pool, waterpark) as the property is ginormous.

Arriving at Lake Geneva we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the place. In a fantastic setting on the shores of a lake just on the outskirts of the sleepy town of Lake Geneva you will find everything you will ever want from a relaxing holiday for the family. The resort has everything from a golf course to a health spa.

My wife and I stayed in the Holiday Inn suites and found them adequate although the carpet could be replaced. The self catering apartment had all the basics one should find in a self catering apartment including a washing machine and tumble dryer

The resort offers several on-site restaurants unfortunately we only had time to visit one of them, Grand Cafe .The buffet food was really good, fresh and tasty. We did however have to complain about the lack of service from the waitresses the first evening but the management were very apologetic and when we went to breakfast the next morning we had fantastic service from all the servers of note was Kelly who was very friendly and looked after us very well.

If looking for any off site entertainment we would recommend the Dancing Horses, just the other side of town. "www.thedancinghorses.com"

Hi Freddie. What an honor to be reviewed by one of TripAdvisors Senior Contributors. We are so thrilled that you found the resort to be everything that you wanted and more. It is our goal to make every guest feel like we are their “home away from home” and can offer them every convenience they need. Especially those traveling from such far distances as you did. Many of our guests never feel the need to leave the resort. Although, many who do will appreciate your tip for entertainment while in town. Thanks for bringing any service issues you encountered to our attention while on property. We are glad that they were taken care of. We appreciate you taking the time to review us and can’t wait for your next trip back!
