Even though I've lived in Wisconsin for a few years, I've only recently discovered Culver's. I had thought they were only an "ice cream" place (or custard as it's known locally.) With the mainly overpriced and disappointing food I had in Lake Geneva, WI, one day, for lunch, I decided to try the local Culver's Restaurant which was very highly reviewed, here on Trip Advisor.
Well, guess what? The Trip Advisor raters were right! The hamburger I had (a double cheeseburger without the famous "butter" on the bun, but with mayo, mustard, tomatoes, lettuce and pickles) was superb. At Culver's, unlike the big chains, you tell them what you want on your burger. Mine had everything I like on a burger and I was in heaven. The fries were thick cut, ridged affairs, perfectly crispy and hot, and my malted milk shake was thick and creamy with real fresh ice cream (not the softie kind!) All-in-all, for this type of a meal (i.e. fast food,) one cannot go wrong by eating at Culver's. It was absolutely fresh, delicious and a down-right bargain, in light of the ridiculously overpriced menus in Lake Geneva! Go... and enjoy a Wisconsin treat, Culver's~.
