“Broccoli Cheese Soup worth the trip”
Reviewed November 15, 2006

As a casual dining with a rustic nautical theme, this place has its own special ambiance. We will travel to Lake Geneva just for their broccoli cheese soup. The grilled in a pit chicken and pork are tender and juicy. Why eat a hamburger when they specialize in these items? Their fries are seasoned lightly and are not greasy when we visit there. We especially enjoy sitting at the windows that overlook the marina ballroom, lake and a sandy beach and just people watch. It's a great destination for a one day getaway.

“Soggy Fries - Greasy Sandwich”
Reviewed May 1, 2006

Have never been impressed with Popeyes food. Fries are never cooked right, sandwiches are greasy. Unless it is just the Reuban, Quesadila's, Cheeseburger, and Italian Beef that are all bad. Macs, Houlihans, Champs are all better. Popeyes has a great location and that is about it.

“Gotta try it....”
Reviewed March 21, 2005

In 1992 I was married in Lake Geneva and we celebrated with dinner at Popeye's, so this is a sentimental favorite for me whenever we visit the area. Unfortunately, I am now a vegetarian and there aren't many things I can eat here anymore!

If you love BBQ, you can get some good stuff here... their broccoli and cheese soup is good - nice and thick and I love their seasoned french fries.

This trip I tried their homemade veggie burger which was pretty good.

During 'season' the place is packed - well.. the whole town is packed..so if you can plan a side trip during off season, you can better enjoy the local restaurants and little shops.. you can also get a great price on a room - but off season means the lake is frozen! So, you decide!

“A must-eat but very crowded in the summer”
Reviewed December 4, 2004

We go to Lake Geneva every summer, and we eat at Popeye's once or twice during each visit. It's on the water so there's a good view, the menu is varied enough to suit just about any taste, and it's reasonably priced. The food is good and service is decent. Be prepared for a very long line of you go during peak season (summer, mainly). They seem to do a good job with moving people through during the peak times. When we went in April there were no lines and they were doing promotions.
