“Will fill your belly, but nothing special”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 27, 2013

Family of four came here for late lunch/early dinner after a boat tour on Lake Geneva.

Pros
-we made reservations, but didn't end up needing them as the restaurant was pretty empty at the off-hour time we dined. We had a nice table on the covered patio
-appetizer of breaded calamari was tasty
-server was friendly

Cons
-nothing outstanding about the entrees. I ordered crab cakes off of the appetizer menu as my entree, along with a side salad. The crab cakes were heavily breaded. The side salad was standard, like something you might get at a cafeteria. Someone else ordered a fish entree, but it was just average. Someone else ordered the crab cake salad as an entree, and it was just average.

If you're starving, then eat here. Next time I'm visiting Lake Geneva, I'd be curious to see what else the town has to offer.

“A great alternative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 24, 2013

Tuscan has become our go to place for lunch or supper after a meeting. They welcome larger groups and have a menu that will allow for everyone's choices. AND will do desperate checks. Portabello mushroom burger is really well done and enjoyable. Salads are fresh and better than expected. Good and attentive service

“Ugh. Wasted opportunity.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 19, 2013

Really, thus place doesn't likely belong in the top 50 for the area. There are so many better places.

Service was OK. But, on this visit, my dining partners hamburger was completely wet (a.k.a. Frozen Beef) and the fries were undercooked.

My pizza tasted like a $2 Torino's frozen pizza. Not great but not awful. I like cheap food! But this was not exactly an Artisan Pizza as the menu stated.

But the worst part was the overall smell and general feeling of a grimy diner in this place. It is clearly one of those places that is wiped down with one filthy rag every day. The salt and pepper shakers were sticky and had rust on top. The mustard bottle label was filthy from what looked like a full season of use. There was basically nothing that felt clean or new in the place.

Ick!

“Just what we expected”

Great location. Appealing outside and in. Very cordial staff. Interesting menu and food that is well-presented, very good, and reasonably priced. My kind of place!

“Overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

My husband and I stopped in for lunch at the Tuscan and our first impression was how DARK the atmosphere is! It is definitely better suited for dinner dining. The food was average and a bit overpriced. My spinach salad with pecans and goat cheese (no chicken) was $13. Our service was also average. Our experience wasnt bad, but there are so many better places in Lake Geneva that we will not return.
