We were 6 "mature" ladies here for a good time and we weren't disappointed. Yes, we all picked hats to wear and we looked superb. Our waitress was Peaches and she was a delight. Loved her southern accent. From the moment we entered we were greeted with smiles and friendly service. I ordered steak, very good and wonderful crème brulee. We enjoyed after dinner drinks, Good time.

For only $25 pp, the best Sunday brunch in town. Eggs Benedict or Omlettes to order plus tons of other options. Deserts galore. Fantastic coffee and waitstaff.

Returned to Baker House for celebration weekend per my husbands request as he raved that 2 years ago they had served the best filet mignon. We were treated nicely, and the food and drink had been good, so I said Great Idea! Reservations made well in advance. This year they even said no problem allowing us to park in the lot earlier if needed as it was Venetian night and the streets were a little crazy. However, what a disappointment once inside. We waited at the bar until our reservation time. I felt ignored, and as though staff felt we were making them work too early or something. (anticipating big crowd due to venetian night, so saving their energy??). It was pretty dead in there at the time, (5:30 pm) so I did not get it. I thought it would get better once seated for dining, but NO. No one offered a hat.. did not ask inside or outside preference.. seated us in an almost empty, but lovely dining area, eventually came to take our order, barely a smile, eventually put a plate in front of us, with the smallest servings, we ate, not impressed with taste. It was good, but no big deal. Paid our pricey tab, and picked out our hats and went outside, trying hard to keep in the spirit... same scenario. Ignored, never asked if we wanted a drink, or a seat or Anything! Plenty of staff, barely any customers, so what was up? We will not be back next year.

This place was fantastic. An old Mansion were you eat in various rooms and the help all dressed up in old times wardrobe. The food is wonderful and creative. Lots of tapas like fare. Do no miss the filet sliders. They were fantastic.

We did not stay at the hotel, but booked a dinner there. The dinners are quite the experience. The dining rooms are period-specific rooms in the original Baker House. It is a tradition that one wears a hat while dining - men, women, children, no matter. You may wear your own, or the restaurant will provide a large variety to choose from. When the sun is going down, a bell rings and everyone is invited out to the lawn to hear the story of the history of the hotel. The food itself was good, if not spectacular and not priced outrageously. All in all, it was a very enjoyable experience.
