“great food and family friendly atmosphere”

We took our 2 young boys to Monk's the first night we stayed at the Wilderness. The food was great and the service was fast and it's very close to the Wilderness Resort. It's just across the parking lot.

“Not impressed”
Reviewed October 11, 2009

I had read some good reviews on this restaurant and decided to try it. We ordered nachos for an appetizer which was a big mistake! The taco meat was very greasy and they used canned cheese sauce instead of real cheese. It's Wisconsin! Where's the cheese??? Anyway, the manager came to our table and asked how the nachos were. We told her they were "fine". She said "Just fine?" And we told her we didn't like them very much because of the greasy meat and she responded with "Well, it's taco meat". I was shocked. Where we live, taco meat is NOT greasy. Maybe they just don't know how to drain it? Anyway, things went downhill from there. The manager did take 10% off our bill (Big Whoop!). Most places would have comped the nachos.

We later spoke to several locals about good Mexican Restaurants and they said there are NONE in the dells. That may help to explain the nachos.

Anyway, stay away from Mexican food.

“Food is awsome!!”
Reviewed August 27, 2009

We had an early dinner, so we were seated right away. Our waitress was very nice & so friendly!! The food is sooooo good!!!! For the price you pay, you get alot of food. They had several ball games playing on all the TV's, so if you are into that, this is the place to go!!!

“Great Food!”
Reviewed August 11, 2009

We also stopped at this restaurant after given advice from a tour guide and we are glad we listen to him. The meal was delicious. We had the burgers which seems to be the speciality along with the homemade chips. One of the best burgers we have ever had! We recommend this place.

“Great place for groups and families”
Reviewed July 31, 2009

We walked in with 11 people during dinner time and only waited about 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and accomadating. The food was typical american food like burgers, sandwiches, salads. Similiar to a Buffalo Wild Wings but not with the wing aspect (sports theme moreso) The food came out fairly quickly and staff was attentive and nice. Would go back again, good price per person. Not formal so good with groups and kids.
