Description: Monk’s Bar & Grill is known throughout the Midwest as the place to go for delicious craft burgers and great service. Our fun, family-friendly dining atmosphere creates a memorable visit for both adults and children. We’re not just a sports bar that loves their Wisconsin Badgers, we’re supporters and fans of local youth sports and schools in our communities. The Wisconsin State Journal has stated, “The (Monk’s) burgers have taken on somewhat of a legendary status in Sauk County.” We have to agree, our burgers are pretty fantastic because we pride ourselves on quality ingredients. Hours of operation are subject to change based on season. Please call for most accurate closing times.

“Wilderness is Blah!”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

The waiter knew little about the menu. We asked if the onion rings were fresh cut and made, he said yes, NO, they were frozen, just as most of the appetizers on the menu. The menu states burgers are served on toasted buns, NOT, my burger was served on a cold, straight from the fridge bun and the burger itsself was luke warm. However the burgers are made there and aren't frozen. That is the only plus I can give them. Then I had to fight to get the burger taken off my ticket that I didn't eat. One bite, just enough of the burger was gone, the one bite I had to let me know the bread and burger were cold. Horrible experience at Monks at the Wildrenes...hopefully the other locations are better.

Thank you for your feedback of Monk's at the Wilderness. Your honest reviews about our food and service quality are taken seriously, and we'd like to apologize for being misled on details of some of our appetizers and for the lackluster burger you were served. We are known for our Monkburgers and to serve anything but quality burgers is unacceptable. If you don't mind sending a quick e-mail to info@monksbarandgrill.com with a few details of your last trip visiting us, you will be hearing from someone very shortly about this situation. Again, our apologies and hope you will be willing to give us a second chance at some point, thank you.

“Good burgers, service was lacking”
Reviewed October 14, 2013

We ate lunch at Monks on a Monday. We sat in the bar area and had to wait around 10 minutes for a server to stop by. We ordered burgers and they were tasty, but the service was not that great. Overall just an ok experience. I don't think I would go back again.

“Great dining option!”
Reviewed October 13, 2013 via mobile

Was pleasantly surprised with Monk's. Many good things to like about this restaurant. First, even though they are nearly always busy the service was good. The place is well run and clean. The location is excellent especially if you stay at or near the Wilderness resort. Food was not only very good but very well priced especially for the Dells. We had a great time with great food and great service. We will be back and would recommend to anyone!

“Late night Dinner”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

We went to Monk's for a late night dinner. Our bartender/waitress Austin was really nice. She was fun to talk to and made it fun. We had a burger and it was really good, that's what they're known for. They were very accommodating.

“For a vacation area not designed for adults completely”
Reviewed October 13, 2013

We have been to the dells several times in the past and have not been to successful in finding a good restaurant that both accommodates a family friendly welcoming and good food. Monks has hit by far both things that our family was seeking. The service was equal to a five star restaurant with multiple courses served. The management staff I believe his name was josh visited our table and inquired of our experience which most places don't bother. Now on to the food, excellent. The wings were like full size chicken drum sticks that were full of flavor and very very succulent. I have a 3 year old who w crawling around the booth like most 3 year olds do, yet the waitress was beyond accommodating to get the boys food first and had a conversation with him which engaged him in the food and allowed my wife and I enjoy our experience even more than normal. To sum this up. You must try this establishment which has 2 locations one big restaurant near the water parks and he original smaller pub grill in the down town area. Must try this place. It puts the chain restaurants to shame. So wish they would join the Chicago market. It would be. Hit for sure
