“Walking and Worship”

On a beautiful Fall day, we walked through the grounds of the Shrine. Some areas are hilly, but motorized carts with drivers are available. Visiting the chapels, Stations of the Cross, and the Rosary path were prayer and resting stops. Beautiful plantings and peaceful environment.

So totally beautiful! Unfortunately we went on a very, very rainy and dreary day so we did not get to experience all the outdoor activities. The church is gorgeous, the latin Mass (at 9:30 on Sunday) was very reverant. They have a great amount of relics - more than I've seen before.
The only warning to other's thinking of going is that there is quite a hike up a winding hill to get to the actual church from where you park your car. So if you are going for Mass - plan to be there at least 30 to 45 minutes ahead of time to make it up the hill on foot and to Mass on time. It was raining like crazy when we went - they had gentlemen in golf carts bringing visitors up and down from the church. What a relief!
The shrine is set in a beautiful part of LaCrosse - all hills and mountains. Gorgeous!

“Will go back!”
Reviewed September 7, 2012

I went here with my family ( myself, sig other, and 2 small children ) and this place is for everyone!! I didn't expect my son, 5, to enjoy it like he did! The walk is really beautiful, a little warm when we went but we made the most of it and there are alot of trees/flowers so there was quite a bit of shade! We stopped at the room of candles ( not sure of the correct name ) and the nice woman there gave my son a rosary bracelet!! Super nice people and good lemonade in the dining room area! Wasn't too please with the parfait though but that was really the only thing I didn't like!
