The food was really good, it was a very nice setting it's a great breakfast restaurant. Got a lot of food and we didn't pay a lot of money and the service was really nice you couldn't ask for more.

Where can you find an ample, healthy lunch for two for twelve bucks? Well, this is the place. We were looking for a simple value priced restaurant for lunch one day and happened across the La Crosse Family Restaurant. I find that “Family Restaurant” typically means value as well as healthy alternatives in addition to the usual burgers and fried. The Family Restaurant did not disappoint. Service was prompt and matter-of-fact. Washrooms nice and clean. It is clearly family friendly, and we noted lots of seniors there on the day we visited.

We stopped at this restaurant for a late breakfast while driving cross country. In a depressed area of this small city, this is probably the best place to eat. My daughter had eggs and sausage along with home fried potatoes. It was enough for 2 people. I ordered a ham steak and took half of it with me. If you're a big eater you might not consider the portions that big but to our way of thinking they were huge. They also wanted to bring us a very large bread basket, but we declined. Prices are extremely reasonable. The food is decent and service is good. What I found strange about this place was there was a huge portrait of Pope Benedict hanging over the hostess station/cashier area. This was months after Pope Francis had been elected. Granted, it's a Catholic city, but in a restaurant open to the public it was a bit much.

Had a really good meal for a good price. The staff knew many of the patrons names so you know the people like it and keep coming back.

I'm easy to please. Fresh squeezed OJ is an instant star upgrade in a breakfast place, even if the breakfast isn't as good as this place was. Crepes, Mediterranean chicken melt, steak and eggs and French toast, all wonderful. A very large menu with lunch and dinner available all day after 11. A great stop.
