“What A View Overlooking La Crosse & 3 States”
Reviewed May 22, 2013

Interesting drive to the top of Grand Dad Bluff (check your brakes!) Then a short walk via a newer concrete pathway to a panoramic 210 degree viewing point built on the bluff. Definitely wheel chair accessible. Newer toilets also available.

“You must go to the Bluff!”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Every trip to La Crosse must include a trip to the beautiful overlook of Grandads Bluff. You can see for miles or just look down over the city of La Crosse. Make sure to have a burger and a beverage at the Alpine Inn while you are at it.

“Worth the short drive up to see the amazing view!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

There's a cool shelter here with a fireplace on either end that would be a great place for a party! The view is like flying low in a plane...straight down. No trails, so that's a bummer. Still enjoyed the short time we spent there.

“What a view!”
Reviewed April 12, 2013

The drive up was a treat but once you get out of your car, be prepared to be awed by the view. This is one stop you have to make when in La Crosse.

“Incredible view”
Reviewed April 3, 2013 via mobile

We went to the bluff about mid-afternoon. The temperature was in the mid-40s, very little wind, bright sun. The view from the top is wonderful. Quite a panorama. For best pictures, I'd recommend visiting in the morning, since the primary view is to the west. There are the standard coin-operated binoculars that probably gave a good look at the countryside, but we didn't use them. The drive up just takes a few minutes. The facilities at the top are clean and look pretty new. It's well worth the time to go up and take a look.
