Radisson Hotel La Crosse
Ranked #4 of 20 Hotels in La Crosse
Certificate of Excellence

This is the only hotel my husband ever wants to stay in when we visit family in La Crosse. I think you can nitpik every hotel in the world for one reason or another if you want to, but if you are a reasonable person you should find this hotel to your liking.
Check in was easy. They could have had an additional staff member, as it was a busy time on a weekend day, but nothing that would diminish our opinion of the hotel.
We stayed on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool. Didn't love that we didn't have a river or city view, but rather an inside view, but it was fine. The linens on the bed and in the bathroom were clean and the room was big and comfortable. Lots of pillows on the bed, and those were comfy too. We ended up loving this room. It was very quiet, and a convenient location and we just used the stairs vs waiting for the one operational elevator. So, no problems there. What we noticed in our room location is how sound proof it was. There was a large, loud wedding reception going on that night, and as soon as we walked out of our room you could hear all the commotion and revelry, which I'm sure went on well into the morning. As soon as we closed our door, however, we did not hear a sound and slept like a rock!
The location is extremely convenient, and we would start the day with a stroll along the river. Close to shops and restaurants, there is plenty to do within walking distance. We did not eat in the hotel restaurant this visit, but we have in the past and have never been disappointed.
We did find one solitary cheerio in the corner of the room behind the floor lamp. Pretty sure that's happened at my house before too.
Yes, the pool is on the small side, but I never noticed it crowded, and I really appreciate the hour of adult only swim time.
Do I consider this a 5 star hotel? No, but it is a nice hotel, in a great location, nice restaurant, that has always been clean when we've stayed here and we have never been disappointed. We will most definitely be returning.

I would give this hotel a ZERO if we could.
Not only did we not get thr rooms we wanted they expected a wheelchair handicapped person to go down STAIRS from the 4th FLOOR!!! WE MISSED the opening ceremony of the convention we came for. The staff was cordially indifferent and NO discount was even offered. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. THIS HOTEL AS BEEN LIKE THIS EVERY TIME OF THE 3 TIMES WE HAVE BEEN IN TOWN AND STAYED HERE. NEVER AGAIN!

Dear BJN,

As discussed in the lobby of our hotel we truly are sorry for the experience your family had while visiting La Crosse. We obviously had not planned on both our guest elevators going down on a sold out Friday afternoon. Unfortunately it took our service provider 19 hours to identify and fix the issue. Our front desk agent certainly could have handled your request for assistance in a better manner and we will use that as our training opportunity with all our staff. I truly believe that all staff strive to do the best they can with each and every guest that comes through our door and no ill will was intended. I know Krista, the young lady who tried to assist on Friday, has already left messages with the number left for us so we can discuss further opportunities to make this right for you and your family. Sincerely, Tim Blaschke, GM Radisson Hotel La Crosse.

If you stay on the river side of the hotel, the view is great. I realize they were doing some remodeling but only having one elevator was a real inconvenience - especially in the morning when we wanted to check out. The trash container on our floor by the elevator was totally full (for 2 days) which wasn't very appealing. The room was pleasant although the sink counter area in the bathroom is very small - not much (any) room for opening cosmetic bag. Enjoyed the fish fry in the restaurant on Friday night.

We recently spent two nights at the Radisson and thoroughly enjoyed it! While visiting this area in the past we've stayed in Onalaska for the convenience to shopping, restaurants and family. The was our first stay in downtown Lacrosse and it was great. We loved the location and took a walk along the beautiful Mississippi River each evening. It was also fun walking around downtown. Since the temperature was 100 degrees, we loved the Old Fashioned ice cream parlor just across the parking lot! We ate a dinner and breakfast in the Three Rivers restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Last but certainly not least, we both got two great nights' sleep! The bed was extremely comortable, with many pillows to choose from. The room was quiet and the temperature was just right! We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

Room Tip: The king size beds have a city view. For a river view, choose the two queens.

The Radisson is showing it's age a bit, although they are in the process of remodeling.

We stayed in a King room on te 6th floor. Bed linnens were very soft and nice as were to towels.

The location was perfect. Right next to the park and river. We ate at Piggy's which is only two blocks away and excellent by the way, and there are lots of shops really close

I always prefer a room with a balcony but they dont have them here, which i did kind of miss.

The restaurant had a decent breakfast, however the bloody mary-OUTSTANDING!

This location was a great spot to spend a weekend away. We were able to park the car and walk most places. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We spent time along the Mississippi River. It was just across the street from the hotel. We walked to local restaurants and shops. The parking lot was gated but we just needed a token to get out. Tokens were available at the desk. I would stay here again because of the great location.

We attended a conference here and really enjoyed our stay. The room was clean (didn't look under the bed) and the location was perfect. While one of us was at the conference, I was able to walk to the shops and restaurants nearby, I also drove out to the mall which was quite easy to get to. There was always traffic on the river to watch. I must say however, I have had it with the big, heavy comforters on beds that is the trend right now. It's summer! With the AC on, the sheet alone was not enough while the big comforter was way too hot and heavy. Would stay here again but will try to solve the sleep temperature problem by requesting a light blanket instead of that big heavy thing.

Room Tip: Queen bed rooms face the river, king bed rooms face the city.
