BWR is about a 5 minute ride on the shuttle from the American Inn. The clubhouse sits up on a hill overlooking the Sheboygan River and the 18th holes of both the River and Meadow courses. The windows of the dining room face west so you get a beautiful view of the setting sun if you 're dining at that time. If you want a quiet atmosphere where you can converse, make sure you sit in the actual dining room (has fire place). If you sit in the bigger room, its really loud. We were initially seated out there; there was a large table of guys (golfers) being loud and obnoxious and everything including the floors are wood. You couldn't even have a conversation. They did reseat us in the main dining room but if I were making reservations, I would specify seating in there. Anyway, it was a very pleasant atmosphere in that room with the sunset, fireplace, carpeted floors and quiet diners. The wine list is limited and just ok. We started with the Corn Sausage Chowder and Spinach & Poached Pear Salad. Both were amazing! My husband had the pork chops and I had the cajun walleye. His chops were better than my walleye but then, I LOVE blue cheese and there is a lot of it in the stuffing. Our waitress was good and the dirty martini in the bar after was one of the best I've ever had - it was so cold there was ice floating in it. We also ate the breakfast buffet there the morning we golfed. The buffet is available every day and is small but offers a good variety of food; definitely enough to eat before one golfs and very convenient.
