We went here for my mother's birthday and we had been there about four hours. The food and drinks were great until the security person called my dad's hat "offensive" and he was asked to remove it. When we entered the bar there was no sign visible in the dimly lit entry and there was nothing said anywhere about a dress code. My mother, who was visibly upset, gathered her coat, said a few choice words and left the bar. I stayed and asked why there was no explanation to this since my brother works at the bar. We were told there was a dress code posted on the inside of the bar and the outside... well nothing outside to warn anyone that they would be rudely asked about their appearance. My dad wasn't drinking at all and was quietly standing next to my mother. Well, on my drive home I called and spoke with the owner, who was defensive, unhelpful and also pretty rude considering I had nothing to drink. I was polite and professional the whole time. I simply stated that if they were going to require something they needed to post it for people to see before they entered the bar and he told me they tried that and he wouldn't even try to post from the inside on a window. He made no attempt to make this right and I doubt we will ever go back again. I understand the rule although, there needs to be a clear understanding of it before you enter the bar. I was really disappointed in how he chose to handle the situation and alothough before this we had a good time I was very turned off to the establishment and will warn people that the owner will be no help if you have a problem.
