I'm from Kenosha and live out of town, but visit about 2x/year and always stay at the BW harborside. Overall, my wife and I are pleased with the rooms and service, great location. On the last visit just a few weeks ago I noticed there was a lot of noise, partying of college students is my guess. Access to the hotel through the side door is easy as the door is not locked and often wedged open. The management should fix these problems to keep my loyalty and improve the quality.

We were a bit hesitant based on latest reviews but took a chance and glad we did. Sneaky clean, pleasant and friendly staff and a fantastic harbor view. Highly recommended. The first floor is being renovated but that caused no problem at all.

We stayed here as part of a package deal with the Kenosha Marathon. The room was similar to the pictures. It was clean and comfortable. One bed was squeaky, the other wasn't. The mattresses were rather soft, but this is a personal preference. The whirlpool was a little short on whirl, but it was clean and hot.

Although many guests were there for the marathon, which started at 7 a.m. The desk said they could only "try" to get bananas, bagels, and beverages available before 7. "Maybe" is as good as "no" since we had to have a dependable source of breakfast and we were all walking to the race. (The dump we stayed in last year opened their full breakfast room at 5 for runners.) They would not allow us to check out even an hour late, but suggested that we shower in the pool area if we needed to after the race. The desk personnel the next day considered this crazy talk because checked out is checked out. With a little effort and no cost, they could have gotten a lot more goodwill.

We did see a vanload of Carthage students dropped off, but had no problems with noise or traffic, even though it was Friday night.

Room Tip: Newer, lakeside, away from dorms.

After suffering through what is undoubtedly the worst room in this hotel (302)-my window faced a brick wall, it's somewhat difficult to be objective. The front desk staff was very friendly and nice, even though they were not able to comply with a late checkout request. Because of a special event, they did put out some of the breakfast items early, which was much appreciated. The ancient tube tv's in the rooms are relics, and the layout of the hotel is bewildering. Parking is convenient, and the hotel is in the happening part of Kenosha.

The hotel was in a great location with a nice view of the harbor. I enjoyed walking around the downtown area and the path next to the lake. You are in walking distance to a few restaurants and bars

The hotel has very thin walls!!!. I woke up several times with people walking down the hallway talking, doors that shut very loudly. The kid screaming for his mom sounded like he was in my room.

The hotel is very outdated and dirty. Hopefully, the construction going on at the hotel is a complete remodel and the hotel will put insulate the rooms better.

I have stayed at this hotel in the past and I've encountered the same issues. I don't think I will return to this hotel again.

Room Tip: don't stay in 302 your next to an elevator with a wall/parking lot view.

The bad:
-- room smelled musty, HVAC unit couldn't decide on a temp. A/C at 70* was freezing cold and heat at 65* was smoking hot.
-- a corner of the room was constantly soaked with ??
-- windows sealed with silicon so we couldn't open them for fresh air, but haunting wind howled through aluminum fixture constantly
-- wallpaper patches in bathroom peeling off the holes they cover
-- only three towels for a family of four and no extra blankets
-- shower curtain barely long enough to reach the tub causing a shower to easily douse the bathroom floor
-- toilet didn't want to flush
-- sink didn't want to drain
-- the deposits in the iron stained my dress shirt
-- the mattresses are HORRIBLE. So gooshy and 'springy' it was like sleeping on a marshmallow in a pothole. I woke every morning with an aching neck and back. I seriously contemplated sleeping on the floor.
-- very noisy at night. I learned this place doubles as a dorm for a local college. REALLY???
-- the hot tub is STILL out of service. Other signs saying things are out of service are so old they are peeling off the walls.
-- the carpets in the lobby are really shabby and the front door needs to be fixed. Not a good first impression

The good:
-- the staff and crew were friendly and helpful to me. They work hard on the place but you know what they say about a sow's ear and a purse.
-- the free breakfast doesn't suck
-- great location! Walking distance from a lot of good stuff, especially Captain Mike's right across the street with great beers, live music, bourbon, and awesome burgers!
-- the harbor view from our room was great, but who gets a hotel room for the view when you are in town to visit family?

All things considered, I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it to anyone. The most important thing to me is a good night sleep. I hope the $$ they are getting from the college makes up for all the upset, paying adults. They really need to shut the place down and remodel or AT LEAST get some quality beds for the paying adults.

I was hesitant on the negative reviews but I stayed at BW anyway. It is under new management as of about a year ago and they are working on updating the facilities. There were old mattresses being tossed out and noticed that ours seemed to be new so that was a plus. Yes, the hot tub was not working and we had a few 4am random people making noise but that was short lived and we had a nice stay. Each morning at 7am we had a decent breakfast that included eggs, breakfast burritos, sausage, potatoes, muffins, yougurt, and make your own waffles. There was always coffee hot and ready. I would stay there again. Thanks Yvette!

Oh, yea...room service was not bad but the ordering system is odd. I don't believe that it is ON SITE!

Room Tip: There IS overflow from the local college but form what I was told they have a seperate entrance and...
