“willow ballin' river”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

I live just a few miles away and I visit weekly. Great place for rock climbing. hiking, bird watching, x country skiing, and snow shoeing are common activities. It's a beautiful place to get away and the waterfalls are a particularly great place for swimming

“Hiking, canoeing, etc”
Reviewed May 21, 2013

Willow River is our "go to" park. We get an annual pass and just go in for the day to hike the trails or rent a canoe or whatever. We have camped overnight because it is so close and the campsites are basically, state park campsites.

It is a very pretty, very hilly and wilderness oriented park. My boyfriend like to "run" on the trails. I can't (ankle issues) but I do love to hike them.

There is a nice beach and swimming area. Remember, this is a river so the water will be a little cooler than the lakes at the same time of year.

“Great State Park”
Reviewed May 18, 2013

This state park is huge and has a lot of trails, a beach area, and multiple camping areas. The Willow River runs through the park and offers fishing, some falls, and good dog-walking trails. Too bad they can't allow an area for dogs to be off leash.

“Nice Waterfalls”
Reviewed May 8, 2013

I used to come to this beach with my family but the last time I visited the beach area seemed very run down and unkept. However, there are some nice hikes and waterfalls in this park to make it worth the trip.

“Favorite place to go hiking and camping.”
Reviewed April 5, 2013

Many hiking trails, some are very easy while others can be quite challenging. There are now three camp grounds at the park, my family has only camped at the lower camp ground (100 level). Nice large trees for shelter in the hot days and walking distance to the beach and picnic area.
